Job Title: Structures Mechanic - Backshop

Job Description:

Aerotek is seeking skilled Structures Mechanics to join our team for the repair and overhaul of aircraft assemblies. This includes working on cowlings, inlets, leading edges, ailerons, and other components. Key responsibilities include:

  • Primary Focus: Work primarily on doors and horizontal stab skin panels.
  • Skin Panel Replacement: Remove and replace skin panels using solid rivets and hilocks.
  • Dent Reworking: Rework dents and perform precision drilling.
  • Fastener Replacement: Drill out and replace hi-loks and other blind fasteners.
  • Metal Trimming: Trim away metal material as needed.
  • Tool Usage: Utilize drills, bucking bars, rivet guns, socket wrenches, hi-lok pliers, die grinders, and DA sanders.
  • Production Schedule: Maintain the production schedule of overhauled units.
  • Orientation and Training: The first week will be dedicated to orientation and safety training.

Hard Skills Required:

  • 4+ years of precision aircraft structures drilling
  • Blind riveting
  • Proficiency with drills, bucking bars, rivet guns, socket wrenches, and hi-lok pliers
  • Metal trimming
  • Use of die grinders and DA sanders
  • Dent reworking

Job Type:

  • This is a contract position with a duration of 12 months.

Work Site:

  • This is a fully on-site position located in Everett, Washington.

Work Environment:

  • Component Repair Shop: Work in a large MRO facility, not in-hangar or on-aircraft.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, with potential shifts from 5:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday to Thursday). The first week consists of ATS and customer-specific training on the day shift, between 24 and 40 hours.
  • Shifts: Second shift from 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM, and a potential weekend shift from 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Friday to Monday).
  • Overtime: Overtime is available, with typical work weeks reaching up to 50 hours.
