JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for Mechanical maintenance and repair on Commercial Aircraft types.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Has obtained & demonstrated all the skills required of a Sheetmetal Technician
- Ability to read, interpret, plan & work from complex SRM’s, Reinforcing Repairs / Replacements
- Ability to read, interpret, plan & work from complex Blueprints, Service Bulletins, AD’s, EO’s, and EA’s
- Ability / willingness to assist, guide, train, oversee & evaluate others
- Attentiveness & knowledge of aircraft schedule / assigned job budget
- Ability to schedule job tasks & meet completion timelines
- Large skin repairs requiring doublers / triplers containing complex contours
- Wing spar, keel beam & other repairs / replacements, etc. that require substantial disassembly
- Disassembly & Reconstruction of areas per Blue Prints
- Accomplishment of Service Bulletins, AD’s, EO’s, & EA’s that affect Primary / PSE
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Proficient working knowledge & ability to perform all requirements of lower Sheet metal Job skill progression titles. Good working knowledge or ability to acquire the skills of a Lead Mechanic. Proficient working knowledge of the following skills and the ability to learn skills among various narrow and wide body commercial aircraft:
Proficient detail blueprint reading, ability to read, interpret and work from service bulletins, engineering work orders, major S.R.M. structural repairs, ability to layout work using bend radius, set back and bend allowance charts, utilization of shop math, knowledge of ATA codes, knowledge of all applicable F.A.R.’s and company policies and procedures including job clocking procedures, routine/ non-routine cards, and work sign-off/ sell-off procedures.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, co-workers and supervision.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around all sections of the facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems. Must possess the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and report to work regularly.
