Summary: The Supervisor of Maintenance Control reports to the Maintenance Control Manager and is responsible for:
Duties, Responsibilities, and Authority:
- Coordinates and monitors aircraft maintenance activities for compliance with CFRs and Company policy and procedures.
- Participates in the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS), as required Complete Initial SMS Training and maintain currency as outlined in the SMS Manual, Chapter 4
- Responsible for the overall performance of the MX Control Department
- Review all processes and procedures to define and develop the most efficient manner of information distribution
- Recruits and hires personnel who can perform their duties in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and provide the appropriate calmness and direction during stressful situations
- Ensures all MOC personnel perform technical support duties in a safe, complete, and timely manner
- Works with all other departments within the SOC to reduce reaction time, define and develop efficiencies, and build a teamwork environment.
- Assures processes and procedures are in place to provide the SOC with the continuing (real-time) status of all aircraft, including delays, DMI/MEL items, and return to service-times
- Hires, trains, and supervises the MX Controllers and Supervisors of the MX Control Department to include manning, shift assignments, job performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
- Develops and/or submits reports to Department Directors and Supervisors as necessary to monitor and plan maintenance activities, aircraft status, and routing
- Develops and implements processes and procedures that coordinate maintenance requirements with the Planning, Line Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance, Materials, and all other departments as required
- Hosts the Daily Maintenance Meeting/Conference call
- Develops and maintains staffing, equipment, and facility requirements necessary to perform all MX Control Department functions
- Works with and supports the DOM and DQC to maintain acceptable standards for safety, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of company aircraft, aircraft engines, and components
- Monitors activities concerning out-of-service aircraft and assures the most expeditious return to airworthy condition.
- Review maintenance delays and system problems to determine root cause and make improvements to maintenance procedures to improve dispatch reliability and prevent reoccurring delays
- Monitors aircraft schedule and routing, coordinates with Operations to ensure adequate ground time is available for the performance of scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance
- Communicates the status of the Maintenance operation to Executive management and DOM to ensure proper corporate planning for the operation occurs
- Manages the MX Control Department as the focal point within the SOC for all aircraft maintenance-related items and provides constant communications to business unit members as required by the General Maintenance Manual and internal operating procedures
- Provides real-time recovery support for aircraft that are out of service, liaises with Technical Operations, Dispatch, and Flight Operations to establish a recovery plan of action
- The Maintenance Control Supervisor is responsible for the quality of the MOC process and holds the authority to establish and modify the policy, procedures, information, and instructions for the operation of the MX Control Department
- Accomplish other duties assigned by the VP of Technical Operations
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings
- Knowledge of FAA regulations Parts 91 and 121
- Have at least 3 years of experience in maintaining large airplanes with an air carrier
- Have completed all initial recurrent training required to ensure that they are qualified to perform their duties
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
- Valid, unrestricted Passport with the ability to travel in/out of the United States
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance.
- Must pass a background check which includes fingerprinting, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located.

- Work shifts may vary, and schedule flexibility is required.
Physical Effort:
- The position requires light/medium physical work. Some lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. (light/medium).
