Technician

Contract Position
$33.03-$38.03/Hour

Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, and troubleshoot test equipment and electrical assemblies to support the development and manufacturing of advanced tactical hardware.
- Fabricate test equipment including test sets, test boxes, cables, and other assemblies, following engineering drawings and schematics.
- Assemble wiring harnesses, perform connector pinning/de-pinning, and install mounting hardware for multi-bay cabinet assemblies.
- Solder components on circuit boards and subassemblies, ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, draftsmen, and quality inspectors in a fast-paced production environment.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation on equipment, and update job status and engineering changes using computer-based programs.
- Operate under moderate supervision, following safety standards and government property control policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in electrical fabrication (cables, harnesses, SMT boards, test equipment).
- 3–5 years of soldering experience and proficiency in reading drawings/schematics.
- Experience in troubleshooting and fault isolation of electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to fabricate test equipment based on blueprints, schematics, and bills of material.
- Proficiency in using general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers).
- Familiarity with industry standards, military specifications, and electro-mechanical repair practices.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office for documentation and job status updates.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work with hazardous materials.
- Desired Skills:
- Certification in soldering standards (J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721).
- Experience with CCA component rework, BGA rework, and hardware repair concepts.
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical component fault isolation.
