Welder (Full Time)

Welder compensation range(based on experience level)$22- $37/hr
Welder I($22/hr-$24/hr)
Attains familiarity with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
Perform TIG welding of aluminum and steel parts.
Understands standards and criteria required to inspect and buying off own work using Piper inspection certifications.
Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.

Welder II($25/hr-$27/hr)
Maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
Performing TIG welding of less complex aluminum and steel parts such as tow bars and seat handles.
Inspect and buying off own work using Piper inspection certifications.
Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
Adhere, maintain and assist teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.
Senior Welder II($28/hr-$30/hr)
Maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
Performing TIG welding of less complex aluminum and steel parts such as Tow bars and seat handles.
Inspect and buying off own work using Piper inspection certifications.
Serves as lead with the ability to guide and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
Adhere, maintain, assist and train teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
Perform audits of areas within the department as required to maintain compliance with all FAA and Piper operational requirements. Initiate related operational process or procedural corrective action, or request additional assistance from leadership or other support teams where necessary.
Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision
Structural Welder I($28/hr-$30/hr)
Maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and Faa requirements.
Performing TIG structural welding of complex aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel welded structures including oil collector tanks and air boxes.
Inspect and buying off own and other Team Mates work using Piper inspection certifications
Assisting in addressing departmental quality concerns to resolve them expeditiously and in a cost-effective manner.
Helping troubleshoot and re-work discrepancies as necessary directed by the Supervisor or Team lead
Providing technical assistance for other teammates & Pipers Manufacturing Support Teams.
Conducting training and cross training of teammates to attain acceptable levels of performance.
Provides assistance when required during new product development, design, build and testing.

Maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
Performing TIG structural welding of complex and intricate aluminum, stainless steel and steel parts including engine mounts & other aircraft assemblies.
Assisting in addressing departmental quality concerns to resolve them expeditiously and in a cost-effective manner.
Helping troubleshoot and re-work all major discrepancies as necessary.
Inspect and buying off own and other teammates work using Piper inspection certifications.
Providing technical assistance for other teammates & Pipers Manufacturing Support Teams as well as vendors, equipment suppliers, etc. when appropriate.
Conducting training and cross training of teammates to attain acceptable levels of performance.
Assisting with continuous improvement efforts to enhance the Teams performance including schedule delivery performance, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, productivity improvement initiatives and cost reductions.
Works with other manufacturing areas to ensure production readiness for design changes. Provides assistance when required during new product development, design, build and testing.

Performing TIG structural welding of all complex, intricate aluminum, stainless steel and steel parts
Interfacing with other departments regarding quality concerns to resolve expeditiously and in a cost-effective manner.
Troubleshooting and re-working all major discrepancies as necessary
Inspect and buying off own and other teammates work using Piper inspection certifications.
Acting as a technical liaison between teammates & Pipers Manufacturing Support Teams as well as vendors, equipment suppliers, etc. when appropriate.
Conducting or coordinating training and cross training of teammates to attain acceptable levels of performance.
Driving continuous improvement efforts to enhance the teams performance including schedule delivery performance, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, productivity improvement initiatives and cost reductions. Assists with data collection, review and report generation.
Working with other manufacturing areas to ensure production readiness for design changes. Provides assistance when required during new product development, design, build and testing.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion welding program or 2 years experience preferred
Related welding experience requirements:
o Welder I: 2 years of experience
o Welder II: 2 5 years of experience
o Senior Welder: 5 years of experience
o Structural Welder I: 2 years of experience
o Structural Welder II: 2 5 years of experience
o Senior Structural Welder: 5 years of experience
Must be able to pass required weld certification per AWS D17.1.
Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Use of hand and power tools as required
Follow all safety procedures
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions
