Aircraft Maintenance Manager
SUMMARY:
The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages assigned aircraft maintenance lines using production schedules, labor analysis, and budgetary information. Utilizes resources to manage entire projects for the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of aircraft. Oversees product quality while ensuring maintenance tasks and functions are carried out in compliance with the applicable requirements of the air carrier maintenance program and its inspection procedures manual.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures direction of maintenance programs is consistent with ATS goals and targets.
• Directly responsible for oversight of Aircraft Maintenance program.
• Coordinates with Quality Control to assure, within ATS repair station limitations, that aircraft maintenance is performed and carried out in accordance with approved Federal Aviation, Manufactures, Customers and ATS procedures and requirements.
• Reviews customer program and FAA regulations to ensure compliance.
• Manages the overall maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, or approve and return to service any aircraft or part thereof.
• Ensures communication of all significant information, including work, risk, safety and quality.
• Ensures coordination with internal support organizations to provide necessary product and services when required.
• Ensures Engineering priorities support aircraft delivery milestones.
• Ensures all assigned areas are clean and audit ready and clear of hazards that pose a risk to employee safety and quality of work. Ensures compliance with safety requirements.
• Directly responsible for the on-time delivery and adjustments of aircraft delivery schedules.
• Monitors crew completion dates and hours estimates for inclusion in daily labor tracking.
• Responsible for labor hours and part expenditures.
• Ensures coordination of maintenance labor requirements in conjunction with other maintenance lines, to ensure most efficient utilization of labor and resources.
• Coordinates LOW when all utilization options are exhausted.
• Provides a positive interface with the customer.
• Directly responsible for the Profit/Loss (P/L) of maintenance programs, achieving performance targets. Communicates budget plans with team.
• Responsible for successful progression of mechanics through On-the-Job Training (OJT) program.
• Reviews recommendations and implements changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.
• Complies with, communicates and ensures compliance of team members on ATS policies, procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Promotes "Balanced Technician" concept.
• Provides mentorship and training support to future and less-experienced managers.
• Responsible for ensuring completion of all performance reviews, identifying career goals and development needs.
• Provides regular feedback and performance coaching including appropriate management of time, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments to all members of maintenance line.
• Responsible for adhering to all ATS required training.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, interviewing and training; development of required skills; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Fully and actively supports ATS policies in all areas of educating, preventing and managing safety in the workplace. This includes observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that employees are provided with full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and employees are provided with the proper equipment to carry out their jobs in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

• Strong understanding of FAA regulatory requirements to include FAR Part 121 and 91 carriers.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• General working knowledge of Oracle, AutoTime, Gateway programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ recent commercial aircraft maintenance and/or MRO experience required.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ aircraft maintenance supervisory experience required.
• Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT:
Based on location, may be required to pass background check for SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) or AOA (Airport Operations Area) badge. Normal business office conditions generally prevail. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Employee may be working in a cubicle, enclosed office, or open area. Floor may be carpeted or bare.
