Position Overview:
Reporting to the Deputy Senior Maintenance Manager, the Canadian SAR Helicopter Acceptable Maintenance Organization (AMO) Transition Manager will manage and coordinate the Transition of AMO through the Cormorant Mid Life Update (CMLU). This role will be the lead within the AMO to ensure that the required program management activities are carried out to prepare the AMO to receive, support and maintain the CMLU upgraded aircraft into the active Rotary Wing Search and Rescue (SAR) fleet.
What You Will Do:
- Coordinate tasks and personnel for all AMO transition activities, including the Cormorant Support Centre in Halifax and all three Main Operating Bases (MOB) across Canada
- Work closely with the CMLU Transition Manager to ensure that AMO transition and activities at the MOBs are aligned with overall CMLU Transition plans
- Oversee the transition of tooling and support equipment required to support the upgraded aircraft at all maintenance locations
- Assist the Senior Maintenance Manager with the process to expand the scope of the AMO s accreditation to include the CMLU upgraded aircraft
- Assist with the planning and execution of the retirement of airframes and parts
- Work with the team to ensure all electronic systems are configured and ready to support the upgraded aircraft
- Coordination with the Cormorant Training Centre for planning and execution of technical training
- Commence initial planning for the return of CH-149 to Trenton MOB
- Other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring:
- Must possess either a university degree in a business or aviation-related subject, or equivalent program management experience / education
- Experience working in the aerospace industry
- Sound knowledge of airworthiness programs
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management
- Experience and/or training with MS Project would be an asset
- Candidates must be able to pass and maintain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Transport Canada security clearances
