In this role, youll play a pivotal part in supporting the development of Configuration Management in Seats USA business unit (SSUSA) with respect to Change Management processes as well as supporting the Change Control Board. Main Function Responsibilities:
A)tParticipates in the analysis of contract requirements with respect to Change Management in the bid phase of programs.
B)tTailors the CMS and OEM/customer requirements for a program and establishes, implements, and maintains the program Configuration Management Plan
C)tManages the flow-down of configuration management requirements and ensures follow-up with sub-contractors and suppliers.
D)tDefines, organizes, and steers the Configuration Control Board including pre- and post-CCB activities.
E)tParticipates in Master Engineering Reviews (MER).
F)tPerforms or contributes to configuration audits (Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA).
G)tMonitor and analyze changes in the organizations environment (standards, customer/OEM) which may impact the CMS and develop solutions to improve processes in accordance with such requirements.
H)tWork alongside the Configuration Manager to enhance the current Change process, ensuring Configuration rules are adhered to, during the change process flow.
I)tSupport Program Managers as they develop their programs, ensuring local and global Configuration Management procedures are observed and complied with.
J)tSupport the implementation of a Windchill based PLM tool. Support relating functions to ensure that CM is effectively developed, applied as a solid foundation to the PLM system.
K)tPerforms other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
A.\tEducation & Qualification:
•\tRequires a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a related engineering field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Information or an accepted equivalent or 6 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
B.\tWork Experience/Technical knowledge:
•\tIn addition to meeting the education requirement, requires an additional 5 years of experience.
•\tLevel 6 CMII Certified or ability to obtain certification quickly
•\tWorking knowledge of engineering documentation release and approval processes.
•\tUser of CATIA V5 / SmarTeam (or other PLM systems).
•\tAerospace or automotive experience with a knowledge of Digital Muckups (DMU).
•\tKnowledge of Boeing and Airbus specifications.
C.\tProfessional Skills:
•\tRequires excellent communication skills that are needed to influence and convince other areas of new requirements or updates to current data
•\tTechnical capabilities should include moderately complex problem solving, root cause analysis, mechanical design practices & drawing standards, project management, and configuration management at a moderately complex level.
•\tAbility to plan and think strategically and resolve problems.
•\tMust have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
•\tAbility to read and review written communication.
•\tSpeech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
D.\tBehavioral Skills:
•\tAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment
•\tAbility to work autonomously
E.\tDesirable Aspects:
•\tAircraft seating development experience
