The Contracts Team of Airbus for the Asia Pacific region is opening a Contracts Director position in Singapore.

In this role, you will work within the Commercial Team at the very heart of the aircraft sales campaigns in the region and will be accountable for the contractual integrity of certain agreements entered into between Airbus and some of its customers.

Contractual integrity means that the contractual documentation you are responsible for strictly and unambiguously reflects all aspects of the commercial, technical, legal or other agreements reached between the Customer and Airbus, while limiting in an optimal manner the implicit or explicit costs and risks triggered by the obligations taken by Airbus.

In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and amending contractual documentation and making contractual and commercial decisions in line with the commercial objectives of Airbus and ensuring compliance with applicable approval processes.

Your main activities will be the following:

  • Participate in the definition of commercial strategy, commercial objectives and business rationales.
  • Draft, negotiate and amend individual contract documents in order to reflect in detail the mutual obligations of Airbus and its customers as globally negotiated by the regional Commercial team.
  • Create and manage customer relationship with key internal stakeholders, drive a multi-functional team during negotiations in close collaboration with the commercial account leader.  
  • Monitor the fulfilment of Customer obligations and re-negotiate contracts to cope with Customer changing requirements, defaults or contentious issues as they may arise.
  • Ensure that the information concerning negotiated commitments is made available to all relevant Airbus entities liable to fulfil these commitments, and provide advice or clarifications on the background as may be necessary.

Required skills

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business, Law or Engineering, or related
  • 5&43; years’ experience including 2 years min in contracts negotiation in the aviation sector
  • Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Basic understanding of financial tools
  • Sound understanding of the business environment and constraints, and ability to think strategically / big picture perspective, in addition to attention to detail.
  • Team player, with a strong culture of transparency with colleagues and management
  • Proactive and creative in order to propose and implement pragmatic solutions to answer customers concerns while preserving Airbus interest
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to bring together multi-functional teams
  • Ability to build customer relationship
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, make critical decisions
  • Ability to handle uncertainty and stress
  • Ability to travel
  • English negotiation level mandatory, other languages would be a plus to liaise with stakeholders across the region
