Accounting Manager - Cost & Pricing

SECURITY CLEARANCE: The ability to obtain UKSV SC Clearance is essential

LOCATION: Stevenage or Newport as a home site (Typically 3 days a week in the office, 2 days remote) The initial learning period will require you to be on site 5 days a week to begin with

TRAVEL: Frequent travel between Stevenage and Newport site

TYPE: Full Time – 37hours per week

These efforts are aimed at controlling our cost base effectively and calculating standard costing references with precision. By supporting decision-making processes, we strive to enhance profitability and maintain a competitive edge, impacting both current and future business outcomes through cost optimization and pricing audit implications.

In designated functions, our focus is on providing essential Controlling support. This involves driving performance management and improvement by meticulously preparing, analysing, and reporting financial data. Through this process, we identify risks and opportunities while offering valuable insights to business managers. This proactive approach ensures that we remain agile and well-informed in our strategic decisions.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM 

• Manage the budget & hourly rate process; Budgetary control for functions, timesheet recording, capex reporting, internal controls and recovery management.  Cost accounting monthly close activities. Preparation and optimisation of hourly rates in preparation for negotiation with external price audit (customers: UK MOD & ESA (European Space agency))
  • Budget for Stevenage and Newport (circa 400M) is prepared, reported and monitored in an accurate and timely manner, and that relevant KPI’s are available for executive Mgt    
  • External price audits (customers: UK MOD & ESA (European Space agency)) are managed and optimized to ensure profit is maximized
  • Act as an interface between technical accounting and Functional / PL finance
  • Controlling for designated areas (budget circa 180M) and associated business partnering delivers value to all stakeholders
  • Manage/support/develop the team (of 8 across both sites) in line with Airbus Values
• Direct interaction with AD Ltd Finance Director on topics including Price Audit

ABOUT YOU

• Possess vast experience within Cost Accounting and Price Auditing
• Strong leadership experience
• SAP proficiency is crucial
• Internal and external stakeholders’ management experience (e.g. Customer price audit, external auditors)
