Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates new projects in Costpoint and updates existing projects when contract modifications are authorized.
Performs review of contracts to ensure the document is properly authorized.
Applies GAAP and Nightwing’s revenue recognition policy to assess new contracts or modifications for performance obligations, segmentation and the method of revenue recognition.
Documents the Technical Accounting position for the number of performance obligations, segmentation and method of revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and revenue recognition policy.
Collaborate with contracts, finance, and program management teams to ensure accurate and timely setup of projects in Deltek Costpoint.
Interpret and implement contractual terms and conditions into the project structure to ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and other government regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for project setup inquiries, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for project setup and related activities.
Ensure alignment between project setup and billing, revenue recognition, and reporting processes.
Conduct periodic audits of project setups to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal and external requirements.
Monitor and resolve issues related to project setup discrepancies and provide recommendations for improvement.
Lead or support system enhancements and implementations related to project setup processes, including Deltek Costpoint upgrades.
Manage multiple deadlines effectively through strong time management and organizational skills.
Train and mentor team members and stakeholders on project setup best practices and compliance requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in government contracting with a focus on project setup, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Extensive experience with Deltek Costpoint, including project setup modules.
Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, and other government contracting regulations.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
Educational Requirements:
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
