What you can expect as the Director of AOG at West Star:

We are excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Director of AOG. In this pivotal role, you will lead the AOG regional leadership team who oversee AOG Technicians, processes, and workforce across all regions, including MRT groups such as engines, structures, and NDT. Collaboration will be key, as you will work closely with the AOG VP, AOG Controller Manager, AOG Chief Inspector, and other leaders across business units to help drive the achievement of its objectives. This position reports to the VP of AOG & MRT, positioning you at the forefront of our dynamic organization.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including (in no specific order):

  • Perform annual reviews
  • Work with MRT Managers and Supervisors, AOG controllers, billing team, and technicians for work order reviews
  • Monitor the coordination of manpower with AOG Controllers
  • Implement, train, and manage processes related to the business.
  • Manage the tooling, equipment, and consumables.
  • Assist in managing the AOG/MRT vehicles.
  • Manage offices and storage locations
  • Managing airport badging
  • Foster and maintain a professional relationship with AOG Technicians
  • Work with the AOG leadership team to drive the business to meet its goals
  • Manage AOG Technicians to maximize full labor utilization.
  • Assist AOG Controllers in project managing large AOG events
  • Assist in setting up new AOG locations
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
Job Requirements:

What you’ll need to bring with you:

 

Your Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

A valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License is required

 

Your Experience:

10+ years in Aircraft Maintenance on various corporate aircraft

Management experience in building and leading world-class aircraft technicians

Working knowledge of Corridor, Cost Accounting Management, Microsoft Office, MS Project, and similar type desktop software applications highly preferred.

Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral

 

Your Initiative:

We’re looking for a team player who is self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.

 

Your Sense of Responsibility:

Unquestioned credibility, judgment, character, and ethics

Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime, travel and weekend assignments

Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines

Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties

Maintain customer-oriented work habits

Direct the work and flow of multiple projects

 

Other Particulars:

 

Physical Requirements

Lift at least 70 lbs.

Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting

Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands

Basic personal computer operations, especially with Apple and Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

Work in confined spaces

 

Mental Requirements

Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines

High mechanical aptitude

Work with others in a professional manner

Coordinate projects

Team management skills

Problem solve by effectively reading and interpreting maintenance, wiring, and illustrated parts manuals

Salary rate for this position generally ranges between $140,000-$210,000. Actual rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semiannual discretionary bonus, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k, paid holidays and vacation time. This position will remain open until 1/27/2025.
