Residing at the Falls Church, VA Corporate office, the Director will lead the development and execution of government engagement strategies to achieve Northrop Grummans international policy goals, including advocacy on behalf of federal policy initiatives and company programs.

The Director will work as part of a team to develop and execute strategy for engagements with government and regulatory officials to advise them of company international policy issues.  The selected candidate will represent the company on federal and regulatory affairs with government officials in regulatory and other agencies and their respective staffs. directly with Defense Department international programs offices, the US State Department, US Commerce Department, foreign embassies, international policy think tanks, and other internationally focused organizations as needed. The individual will facilitate international delegation engagements, including briefings, visits to company facilities, and events.

The incumbent monitors progress of policy and regulatory issues of interest to the companys international business and provides analysis to company leadership. He/she works with designated trade and business associations on global policy and regulatory issues of importance to the company. The Director provides insight to sector leadership on global regulatory policies, including but not limited to export/ITAR, nonproliferation/MTCR, and Foreign Military Sales.

The Director identifies potential policy barriers to partnerships on emerging technologies. The individual will understand the national security policy formulation processes, key actors, and timelines in the US and relevant foreign countries. The Director evaluates US Government defense security cooperation and partner capability building policies in these regions; identifies potential funding and resources for partnerships.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of related experience. Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include political-military affairs, security assistance, foreign disclosure and export control, technology and information transfer, and cooperative research development and acquisition.

  • Minimum of 5 years of in-depth experience in security cooperation to include developing coordinated positions on US export policy through the interagency processes.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to provide strategic recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others, including ability to interact effectively with senior level management.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and retain a Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a public policy or national security related field.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a disaggregated team to achieve specific goals and objectives.

Salary Range: $197,600 - $296,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
