Position Summary
The G550 Dedicated Director of Maintenance will perform and oversee all activities, maintenance programs, inspections, coordination, and project management for the assigned aircraft, focusing on hands-on maintenance. This role reports directly to the Lead Captain and involves performing light to moderate maintenance tasks, excluding heavy type maintenance. The DDOM shall follow Clay Lacy protocols for maintenance support and reporting and ensure oversight by Clay Lacy for all maintenance events using all available team resources. This position supports a two-pilot, single-mechanic Part 91 operation. The schedule for this position is full-time and dependent on the aircraft flying schedule.
Job Responsibilities

- Be present for all aircraft arrivals and departures at the home base and nearby airports.
- Adjust daily workflow for optimal maintenance-related decision-making.
- Conduct pre/post-flight inspections and perform light to moderate maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate some moderate maintenance as necessary and all heavy maintenance to optimize aircraft availability, considering the owners schedule.
- Maintain required records per FARs, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies.
- Deliver high levels of customer service to the company and its clients.
- Develop and maintain vendor/supplier relationships and support services.
- Anticipate and address client and crew needs to enhance support and service levels.
- Foster high morale through awareness of department policies, development programs, and periodic meetings.
- Act as an expert on safety-related matters.
- Liaise with safety organizations on industry safety concerns.
- Identify and report safety hazards using the company’s SMS program.
- Be onsite at least four days a week for preventative maintenance.
- Provide a 24-month maintenance projection, updated monthly.
- Review vendor invoices and close out work orders promptly.
- Provide weekly maintenance schedule updates.
- Update maintenance projections monthly.
- Input and update all aircraft discrepancies in the tracking program.
- Update the scheduling system with aircraft maintenance events.
- Utilize the designated system for all AOG events or trip interruption discrepancies.
- Coordinate quarterly audits of the assigned aircraft and records.
- Report all aborted flights and diversions to the Lead Captain, Clay Lacy Director of Maintenance, and maintenance control.
- Produce necessary reports for all aborted or diverted flights. (MIR/SDR)
- Send work packages, logbook entries, and airworthiness release forms to the assigned supervisor for review.
- Review work packages and RII items before sending them to the maintenance provider.
- Review aircraft CBs, SBs, and ADs quarterly to improve dispatch reliability.
- Develop and submit a 12-month maintenance budget annually.
- Verify third-party maintenance providers are approved before any work.
- Scan and email completed work packages to the records department after auditing.
- Create parts orders, service requests, and P.O. requests through the tracking system.
- Follow Clay Lacy protocols for maintenance support and reporting, ensuring oversight by Clay Lacy for all maintenance events using all available team resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (A&P).
Experience & Requirements

- Must have a current and valid US FAA A&P Certificate.
- Corporate aviation experience required.
- G550 initial training qualification and experience working on G-V aircraft type required.
- Compliance with all FAA regulations, company operations manuals, specifications, SOPs, and policies.
- Must pass DOT/FAA drug screening, background checks, and random drug/alcohol tests.
- Must live within 2 hours of Pitt-Greenville Airport, NC.
- A minimum of 10 years of A&P experience preferred, with specific experience in maintaining the assigned aircraft model.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willing to travel for maintenance events not completed at home base.
- A willingness to work long and sometimes irregular hours.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and management abilities.
- Professionalism and calmness under pressure.
