Job Summary

The ACAA’s Geospatial Systems Manager is responsible for all geospatial data and databases, including CAD, Geographic Information System (GIS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM).  The individual will manage, prepare, maintain, and/or revise CAD, GIS, and BIM data, drawings, and layouts, and advances the organization’s geospatial strategy. The individual is responsible for the management, coordination, and completion of projects while remaining aligned cross-functionally with the organization&39;s strategy, commitments, and goals. The position will manage short- and mid- as well as long-term projects by maintaining schedules, monitoring progress to keep project resources on track, and providing regular project updates.

 

Here is how the Geospatial Systems Manager will help:  

  • Own and manage existing GIS maps, applications, and CAD and BIM data to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Create and enforce data standards as it relates to CAD, GIS and BIM data.
  • Create and oversee the creation of geospatial applications to serve organization needs, utilizing CAD, GIS, and BIM data and platforms.
  • Manage and operate equipment (CAD, GIS, BIM, iPad, Xerox HP Plotter) for collecting, drawing, scanning, plotting, and printing of maps and drawings.
  • Create visual and graphic aids for use in public presentations and displays, press releases, employee training, and Federal and State grant applications.
  • Produce or update Standard Operating Procedures for ArcGIS Online applications.
  • Provide training for new and continuing users to the ArcGIS Online environment.
  • Produce Field Map applications, Experience Builder applications, and Dashboard applications using ArcGIS Online.
  • Oversee updates to GIS eALP database and sheets.
  • Independently advances and monitors progress on all strategic initiatives and identifies, assigns, and tracks specific assignments. 
  • Conduct research and prepares reports, presentations, and other documents proactively; and anticipates needs.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and documentation.
  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Department Leader; Review, revise, and draft correspondences for a wide array of audiences. 
  • Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and resources needed, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Track, monitor and measure project progress and performance to ensure completion of goals and objectives.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation so that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. 
  • Develop and present project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about performance, adjustments, and progress.
  • Manage contracts with project vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document as needed
  • Prepare a variety of reports, forms, executive summaries, and project details for assigned projects.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications


The following requirements list the minimum education/training/experience required to qualify for this job. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.


 

Requirements to apply for the role of Geospatial Systems Manager are:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Geospatial Technology, Geography, Planning or a related field.
  • Five-Seven years related work experience. 
  • Extensive knowledge of ESRI and Autodesk platforms including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.  Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.

 

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:  

  • Extensive knowledge, skills/expertise in operating GIS and CAD systems.
  • Knowledge of BIM (AutoDesk Revit) a plus.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Considerable skills in critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Considerable ability to prioritize and use sound time management and communicate deadline requirements effectively to others.
  • Working knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to procure and manage consultants/contractors.
