The Group Lead plays a key role in overseeing the day to day activities of the Group. You will provide mentorship and guidance to your team, maintaining high standards of quality and productivity while fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment.
The PSE Hot Section Customer Technical Services (CTS) Group Lead is responsible for overseeing the CTS team supporting P&W partnership programs with Hot Section Hardware. The PSE Group Lead reports to the PSE Department Manager and works closely with the MTU Program Office as well as P&W counterparts. The PSE Group Lead also individually supports one of the following programs - the 30K HPC/30K LPT, 24K HPC/24K LPT, or OCE LPT program.
The Group Lead will coordinate with the Program Integration Group within PSE as well as with Engineering teams across MTU to identify and solve common technical challenges across all engine programs using MRO and Program data for prioritization. This role is expected to foster collaborative technical alignment between Engineering, Program, and Partners. The Group Lead will manage the allocation of team resources through contract reviews, budget monitoring, and by providing support for departmental operational planning. This position will ensure timely completion of assignments by promoting collaboration, overseeing technical content for presentations, and providing direction to CTS Groups. The Group Lead will support PSE Department strategy by assisting in recruitment, training, and long-term departmental planning, as well as helping develop technical competencies in alignment with the Technical Lead.
Essential Functions Include:
Employee Development
- Conduct regular, meaningful 1:1’s with Group members to connect and discuss progress, address concerns relative to development goals and expectations
- Fully write and hold Development Plans and Annual Feedback Summaries for Group members with Manager and Tech Lead input
- Set demanding but realistic goals and explain relevance within the greater context; link individual goals to the goals of the Group and company
- Assess performance of employees
- Recognize employees for high performance utilizing AENA’s Recognition Program, along with other methods
- Proactively identify and address employee issues and escalate to Manager if disciplinary action is needed
- Provide merit-based input for salary discussions
Recruiting
- Support department recruitment activity
- Review candidates in applicant tracking system
- Participate in interview de-brief meetings
Communication
- Conduct Group Meetings to discuss projects, challenges, escalations and successes within the Group; Communicate relevant information down to Group and up to Manager
Budgetary Ownership
- Provide input for Department Operational budget and manage Group budget
- Own quoting of POs or SOWs in NetSuite (delegate Project leads if applicable)
Strategic Input
- Provide input to Manager about changing business, financial and operational information
- Propose changes to existing Group structure as necessary
Continuous Improvement

Task Oversight

- Ensure deliverables are being met
Operational Oversight
- Provide oversight and direction to comply with company policies and procedures
- Conduct NetSuite project management tasks
- Review NetSuite charging and incentive time/pay
- Review expense reports (travel, etc.)
- Review training records
- Monitor hybrid work schedules
- Coordinate schedules (Flextime and PTO), job rotations, and assignments
- Approve incoming PTO/Flextime requests
Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering)
- 10+ years of relevant experience in gas turbine engine MRO
- 3+ years of Hot Section Hardware knowledge
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a cross functional leadership role preferred
