We’re looking for a HR Lean Leader with transactional Lean domain expertise and a passion for driving transformational change to join our team in support of our FLIGHT DECK. The HR Lean Leader will be a player and coach with the HR function, driving increased value in the way work is done; an influential leader able to drive both a change in operating mindset and ensure Lean principles are applied effectively in support of strategic and operational business plans. The responsibility of this position is to develop FLIGHT DECK lean proficiency among GE Aerospace HR leaders and team members establishing standards to improve local and global HR processes, prepare and build processes to support the design of the future state standalone company and, to be a partner with HR leaders and teams in establishing practices and deploying lean principles that promote and enable GE Aerospace’s global lean transformation. The HR Lean Leader will serve as a team player, lean coach, facilitator, educator, advocate and accountability partner to the HR function and Business HR leadership team to drive the understanding and application of FLIGHT DECK Lean principles and tools within the HR systems, tools, and overall approach.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead the activation of FLIGHT DECK focused on 5 Enterprise and 5 Individual Lean focus areas. Core focus will be supporting the HR team on gain FLIGHT DECK experience.
Able to lead through influence with proven coaching capability, assist HR teams in establishing daily, weekly, and monthly operating systems while also developing HR leaders as lean coaches and practitioners’ business wide to drive incremental and breakthrough improvement year over year.
Create value stream alignment through value stream management for HR, lead and coach the HR teams in visualizing the information flows and system transactions to identify and build action plans to radically transform the non-value-add to value-add ratio for work that is done and reduce lead time.
Partner with HR professionals globally and lean leaders to prioritize and solve problems based on voice of the customer related to safety, quality, delivery, cost within the businesses and functions through the application of lean.
Design, develop and establish standards, tools and templates to form an efficient Kaizen Promotion Office for GE Aerospace HR ensuring all content is meaningful and relatable to HR domain team members while ensuring alignment to the Lean Business Office. Coach the deployment and implementation across HR globally
Collaborate with HR teams across GE Aerospace to assess value streams, processes and practices as compared to lean company benchmarks, both internal and external. Assist in establishing and executing transformation plans based on the prioritized gaps and develop new process capability through the execution of kaizen events.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
Minimum of ten years of experience as Lean leader with a proven track record having developed deep domain expertise across Lean.
A lean practitioner with more than two years of application in a transactional lean environment showcasing an impact on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Cash.
Demonstrated ability in solving complex problems and transforming results and process through the application of Lean techniques; capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Visual Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement and Kanban
If remote, must be willing to travel up to 50.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Location Preferred: Cincinnati, Ohio area.
Specific experience simplifying complex processes with a primary focus on transactional value stream analysis and waste elimination.
Experience driving business transformation preferably in a major turn-around. The ideal candidate has been through complex change and tough situations; bringing a will to win with strong followership and proven capability of leading through influence.
Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile.
Impactful communicator from the shop floor to the boardroom.
Change agent, able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact.
Highly collaborative person, influential leader, capable coach who is comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change.
Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities.
