Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability. Controls Engineering is an organization within FBM that facilitates control of the missile through servo actuators, gas hydraulic systems and small rocket motors.

The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost.

We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable IPT Execution Lead to join our tight-knit group to act as the execution lead and cost account manager (CAM) in a Post Boost Control System (PBCS) hardware IPT that both collaborates well in a team environment and has excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way.

The PBCS hardware IPTs are responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS hardware which is part of an attitude control and propulsive subsystem controlling the missile in a phase of the flight.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead our PBCS separate component IPT teams with a team size of approximately 5 to 10 engineers and expected to grow in the next few months. As execution lead and CAM you will be primarily responsible for ensuring we meet our cost & schedule baseline. You will provide earned value (EV) performance and EAC assessments. The candidate will identify risks, issues and opportunities and implement approved risk handling plans.

- Contribute to new business trade studies
- Enhance cross discipline product development
- Participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development
- Be the technical interface to FBM management, systems engineering, quality, and our Navy counterparts.
Basic Qualifications:
• Any combination of experience in:
- Engineering project management,
- Supplier management
- Annual budget proposals,
- Technical evaluations, tracking
- Development of cost/schedule
- Budget proposals
- Technical evaluations
- Mechanical design
- Phases of project lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR)
• Knowledge of Earned Valued Management, metrics and process management
• Experience in project management, financial management, or as Control Account Manager
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience
• Experience with FBM processes and products
• Experience with aerospace manufacturing
• Experience with propulsion hardware development
• Experience with refractory metals
• Experience as principal engineer delegate or project lead
• Experience with resource estimation & management, component development estimation, project planning, and project management
• Experience with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) initial drafting and baselining

• Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
• Experience in proposal development: Basis of Estimate (BOE), Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM), & Statement of Work (SOW) generation
• Experience in gas/fluid dynamics or energetics/propellants
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $100,400 - $192,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
