About This Role

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for streamlining delivery processes and improving the understanding of client needs, resulting in client satisfaction. They will also support everything from several small to medium projects to very large complex programs. Supporting the training of the project managers in practicing the necessary methodologies and processes across their projects and/or programs is also essential.

Are you ready to:

  • Manages through governance structures, creating detailed program-level plans that provide guidance to projects where detailed project-level plans are established.

  • Drives alignment and adherence to standards and direction set by CAE.

  • Supervises and/or develops and manages communication plan to include content, frequency, audience, and channels.

  • Helps to build and/or improve a full program and project management function from scratch over time.

  • Conducts all project and program management functions.

  • Sets up SharePoint program sites for document retention.

  • Drives joint planning and standardization of requests across the partners and ensures that approved methods, processes and tools are consistently used, including change, issue, risk and quality management.

  • Supports the delivery teams, develops and maintains relationships with key internal CAE business units, and ensures all projects are moving forward and following the CAE standards.

  • Advises senior management and executives of program/project and client status.

  • Provides early warnings and quality assurance.

  • Facilitates program level issues and change management resolution.

  • Provides oversight and reports on schedules, budget and expenses.

  • Establish, manage and monitor the projects and programs from initiation through delivery till closure.

  • Organizes interdepartmental activities, ensuring the program/project/product is completed on schedule and within budget constraints.

  • Supports the global Standard & Methods team by developing/improving processes, documentation, project management playbooks, lessons learned, etc.

  • At times to be willing to work in different time zones.

  • Conducts and/or supports training for the project management community.

  • Actively participates in global Delivery & Care initiatives.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum of 8 years of Project and Program Management experience.

  • Minimum of 8 years working experience in relevant fields.

  • Possesses and applies expert knowledge of project management principles, practices and procedures to complete assignments.

  • Excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented, interacts well with others, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Intimate knowledge of delivery methods and standards.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Fully proficient in MS Project.

  • Must be able to interface appropriately at project team level.

  • Understand the concepts, definitions and application of project reports.

  • Possesses an understanding of quality assurance concepts.

  • Fluency in English is a must. Any other languages are an additional advantage.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization and supporting virtual distributed teams.

  • Airline domain expertise preferred.

  • Experience in management consulting, working for a software vendor and/or in the travel industry preferred.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, PMP or equivalent certification in program and project management methodology.

  • Your role will involve some national and international travel - Approximately 40.
