POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform advanced sheet metal repairs and replacements on structural components, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, customer-specific program requirements, and relevant structural maintenance manuals and drawings. Execute all maintenance tasks with a high level of skill and precision, adhering to approved repair methods. Follow detailed instructions and safety protocols to complete assigned work efficiently and safely.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to evaluate structural damage and plan/layout a repair per the manufacturers SRM. |
Performs skillful sheet metal repairs and skillful replacement of structural parts. |
Ability to repair major and primary structure per the manufactures SRM. |
Ability to flow major repairs and modifications to meet milestones. |
Actively listen, speak and counsel with Flightstars Line Supervisor, Structure Supervisor and the Engineering team on all structural related major repairs. |
Ability to interpret blueprints, or engineering drawings of the item to be manufactured or repaired. |
Ability to work with various metals, including magnesium, alloys, and stainless-steel sheet. |
Must be able to work independently or with others with minimal supervision. |
Ability to assign work to the appropriate talent. |
Ability to assign work to meet the milestones of the Aircraft. |
Ability to read, understand and explain manuals to structure personal. |
Applies corrosion preventatives and maintains knowledge of areas of the aircraft in which corrosion inhibiting liquids may not be applied. |
Reads maintenance manuals to identify and locate aircraft components on the aircraft, and accurately implements instructions of maintenance manuals. Identifies the structural composition of aircraft (i.e., aluminum or composite) prior to performing any work on the structure. |
Lifts and carries hand tools, parts, and work materials; ascends and descends ladders and platforms; and frequently works in a variety of positions such as stooping, kneeling or squatting. |
Follows safety procedures and wears/uses appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed and enforces the safety procedures to personal. |
Reads instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work. |
Prepares and maintains simple records such as work order documentation, logs, and time and material records, as instructed. |
Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) and provide on-the-job training to under level skilled Sheet Metal Mechanics on aircraft maintenance and structural practices, technical aspects of new/modified systems and components. |
Performs other duties as assigned. |
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum five (5) years of experience providing knowledge of aircraft sheet metal work techniques, terminology, parts, etc. Familiar with 14 CFR Part 91/121/145 preferred.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required.
OTHER:
Current FAA Airframe License in good standing is preferred or documented experience to obtain an FAA repairmans certificate.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Individual will perform daily transactions within Flightstars ERP system (AMROS), vending (POU), as well as research customers maintenance manuals.
SAFETY:
Works safely and follow safety rules and regulations. Reports unsafe working conditions and behavior. Takes reasonable prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices. Adheres to Flightstars SMS safety culture.
