As a Warehouse Lead, you will supervise the activities, budgets and goals for warehouse personnel for the handling, storage and control of inventory levels to achieve acceptable service levels while minimizing cost and meeting turnover objectives for warehouse facilities used to service gas turbine engines/components.

What you’ll do:  

  • Improve team’s operational performance with a focus on metrics.
  • Able to adjust to any/all demands in order to meet production needs and customer commitments.
  • Work in a fast paced, high demand environment that requires constant change.
  • Manage operation planning and scheduling (requested time off, overtime, idle, flex/cross training, etc.) to optimize efficiency within the department.
  • Embrace and lead safety-driven culture by proactively addressing any hazardous conditions, unsafe practices or improperly functioning equipment/tools.
  • Embrace and lead safety processes and initiatives (Align & Move, SHEBBA2 near miss and hazard reporting, SafeStart, etc.).
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified to perform their work. 
  • Ensure employees use only those vehicles, tools and equipment they are qualified to use.
  • Ensure work assignments are executed in accordance with Workflow Instructions and Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure required forms, records, reports and other paperwork are completed legibly, correctly and on time.
  • Ensure equipment and tooling is in proper operating condition, scheduled for maximum utilization and operated properly for the intended purpose.
  • Embrace and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coach and instruct employees to develop a high-performing and engaged team (performance reviews, Train-Track compliance, etc.).
  • Supervise the daily execution of warehouse staff activities, including planning, leading, organizing and directing such functions as work assignments and performance management.
  • Propose, supervise and monitor cycle counts and inventory audits/accuracy.
  • Effectively expedite and have materials available for repair, overhaul and assembly lines.
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical and statistical assignments.
  • Ensure the proper staffing/training of warehouse positions with qualified and competent employees.
  • Work closely with managers in all production and administrative departments to ensure company management requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of warehouse related operations.

Skills and requirements you’ll use: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation/Logistics, Management or related fields, or high school graduate with a level of technical vocational training and knowledge normally achieved through graduation from a university, trade school or military logistics, purchasing, supply or management training program. 
  • Should have at least five (5) plus years of extensive and progressively more complex related commercial experience in the aviation/maintenance industry with an emphasis on warehouse management activities, strategic inventory reduction, aviation procurement and supervisory/management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of management best practices, within warehousing.  
  • Must possess strong and effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Should be able to demonstrate reasonable PC proficiency in business tools as well as learn any corporate or industry software used by the position.
  • Under daily general direction, provides supervisory oversight of staffs handling problems in sensitive warehouse environments, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy, where communication with vendors, agencies and other company personnel is vital to successful and profitable completion of assignments.
  • Makes managerial decisions involving both established policies/procedures and sensitive issues which may require further consultation with managers or executives in the operations, sales and service functions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Demands: 

  • The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
  • May occasionally exert up to (25-50) pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves walking, sitting, driving or standing for various periods of time required to supervise work on equipment attached, or to be attached to aircraft. 

Work Environment

  • Most work is in a normal plant office environment but there is daily exposure to warehousing.
  • Warehouse handling and production/shop facilities where all applicable OSHA and company safety policies and practices must be observed. 
  • Environment may include also include extended periods of elevated noise exposure due to engine testing.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel between 5 - 10 of the time.
