Position Summary

Responsible for championing and leading Lean initiatives at the Plant level by utilizing the companys WIN Strategy. Organizes associates in value stream mapping and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste in all office, factory and support functions. Measures and reports progress on an on-going basis using the Lean Journey Assessment, financial performance measures and Lean Report Card measures. Transfers the ownership of lean principles to facility leadership

Responsibilities

  

  • Deliver training in the PLM System such as lean leadership, value stream mapping, kaizen, daily management, waste and variation elimination, material flow, standard work, cellular flow, SMED, 5S, visual management, lean sourcing, lean office, built-in quality
  • Facilitate Lean activities and workshops including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen , Obeya, 5S
  • Facilitate 5S system and drive for excellent result
  • Facilitate or support continuous improvement activities (SPL, Kaizen, A3) in factory
  • Engage and inspire the manufacturing, warehouse and maintenance employees to recognize process improvement opportunities and actively participate in the realization / validation of their suggestions utilizing the appropriate Lean /CI approach (5S, Standard work, Visual Management, Short Interval Control)
  • Drive and facilitate Business Excellence culture.
  • Drive and facilitate Six Sigma methodologies application in a structure way.
  • Mentor/coach employees in Business Excellence & Six Sigma concept and knowledge.
  • Create a long term ideal state map. This should include the product value streams as they would appear in the long termCreate a long term ideal state map. This should include the product value streams as they would appear in the long term.
  • Optimize the state map with the use of lean techniques. This will point out possible waste, eliminate the identified waste sources, and create short and middle term state maps which improve on the process value.
  • Create an implementation plan to turn the current state map to the short term, mid-term and long term state mapCreate an implementation plan to turn the current state map to the short term, mid-term and long term state map.
  • Implement the plan. As the lean manager, will have to lead the implementation.
  • Provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of the value stream. This ensures that the stakeholders meet the current production demands, at the same time the changes are improvements are also met

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or related discipline
  • 12 plus years’ experience in manufacturing environment with minimum 5+ years in Lean & Continuous improvement role 
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge on Kaizen, Automation and tools development
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Internal audits, IATF, SPC, TPM, 5S

Skills & Competence

  • Been a team leader or facilitator in lean events in manufacturing, engineering &/or support areas.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to articulate the desired state, purpose and value of lean and constantly moving in the direction of waste elimination.
  • A demonstrated understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, 5S’s, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving
