About This Role
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
Candidate shall function as the Integrated Product Support (IPS) Manager for a Department of Defense (DoD) Programs which are in the development phase of a product lifecycle. The candidate will be responsible for planning, implementation, control and monitoring of an IPS Program that effectively considers all IPS elements to ensure development of supportable material, necessary logistic products and services, and a support strategy that optimizes functional support, leverages existing resources, lowers life cycle cost and decreases the overall logistics footprint. The programs being worked on are in the development phase.
- Functions as a principal member of the engineering management staff, serving as the primary point of contact on all IPS and IPS-related matters.
- Assesses IPS requirements, complete program plans, coordinates and provides technical and budgetary support for logistics program development, and ensures timely, accurate, and complete response to IPS proposal and/or program requirements.
- Coordinates IPS Element representation to ensure active participation as an integral part of the Systems Engineering design process.
- Establishes an IPS Working Group (IPSWG) or IPS IPT and conducts necessary reviews with the customer, Textron Systems representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure that logistics considerations are integrated into the program and to provide IPS status.
- Coordinates the conduct of Product Support Analysis (PSA) to influence operational and material requirements and design specifications, define support requirements, develop and acquire the required support, provide required operational support at optimal cost, affect readiness and life cycle cost improvements, and repeatedly examine support requirements through the service life of the product.
- Develops contract deliverables as well as coordinates development of contract deliverables prepared by other IPS stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and complete submittals.
- Participates in all engineering design and drawing reviews to ensure that supportability is considered in the design and provides IPS drawing release approval.
- Serves as a participating member of the program Configuration Control Board (CCB) to ensure that supportability requirements are considered in all proposed changes.
- Estimates IPS efforts for proposals, ensuring that each IPS element and all related contract requirements are addressed.
- Monitors and regularly reports on cost and schedule performance to program and business leadership.
