What You Will Do:

Pratt and Whitney Advanced Coating Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary in the Hot Section Module Center (HSMC), is seeking a highly talented and motivated Maintenance manager. The business provides specialty coating applications for turbine blades & vanes and combustor panels for several key P&W programs, including NGPF and F135. Services at P&W ACT include metallic coating, ceramic coating and heat treat.

Overall responsibilities will include the management of the maintenance staff, Preventive Maintenance planning for the manufacturing equipment, job assignments and priorities for unplanned downtime events, maintenance staff procedures, and training to ensure operational performance targets are achieved.
The candidate will interface frequently with the Operations team, Purchasing and EH&S managers in setting priorities, establishing spare parts needs, and insuring compliance to all safety and environmental requirements.

Qualified candidates will provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building. They will be able to communicate effectively, have strong leadership and organizational skills. They will excel at forward thinking and ensure the entire business is customer focused enabling it to meet the demands of a difficult manufacturing environment.

Successful individuals will:

  • Use planning tools to assist with planning and prioritization activities for the maintenance teams.
  • Delegate effectively to develop personnel and balance the workload.
  • Establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance for subordinates. Give constant feedback on performance to those standards and effectively coach employees to improve performance when needed.
  • Effectively communicate with the operations team on maintenance priorities and scheduled downtime.
  • Communicate to peers the requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities.
  • Responsible for contractor coordination
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed and certified in accordance with approved procedures and Maintenance Management requirements.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • BA/BS degree required with 5+ years’ experience or in lieu of degree10+ equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling in Maximo, SAP, or MS Project.
  • Management experience.
  • Maintenance experience in a high tech manufacturing industry.
  • Awareness or experience with environmental requirements and regulations pertaining to site permits, and waste management.
  • Candidate must have excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • A strong communicator, you’ll be able to show examples where you’ve worked across teams to gather requirements, spot conflicts, and resolve issues, while bringing stakeholders with you
  • Experience with MS Excel
  • Demonstrate analytical problem solving, for example, where you’ve made scheduling decisions to trade off between competing priorities for the best business outcomes
  • Customer focus (internal or external) is essential – you’ll be able to show how you’ve understood what your customer needs and how you’ve used your planning skills to deliver exceptional maintenance or operational results
  • Computer literacy including the use of maintenance / asset management systems, windows operating system and Microsoft office / Microsoft 365.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior Program/Project Management Experience, PMP certification preferred.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
