Role Overview:   In collaboration with team members, you’ll play a key role in building the maintenance training function with a focus on equipping the production team to develop technical and functional skills to drive effective performance.

What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and update aircraft maintenance training programs with engaging and effective content, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Implement a structured and progressive training curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of both entry-level and experienced production employees addressing critical training needs and accommodating changes in regulations, technology, and company procedures.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the progress of training programs, making necessary adjustments as needed to enhance effectiveness and ensure alignment with organizational goals and employee needs.
  • Facilitate training sessions for individuals or groups utilizing a diverse range of methods.
  • Monitor and update training compliance records within the tracking system to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support performance effectiveness by identifying skill gaps and training needs within the production team and supporting the development of both individual and team training plans as required.
  • Collaborate regularly with team members within Maintenance and across functions to ensure programs are aligned to organizational goals. 

 

 

What you bring:

  • A Canadian AME license combined with a certificate, diploma or degree in training and development.
  • Minimum eight years’ progressive experience in maintenance operations with at least five years in an AME role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment, development, execution and monitoring of technical and functional maintenance learning and development initiatives.
  • Proven experience training coaching and developing teams for demonstrable performance improvement and effectiveness.
  • Ability to establish and track key training and performance metrics and results.
  • Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations and industry standards related to aircraft maintenance training.
  • Strong technological abilities with a solid background in CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
  • Prior experience with learning software to track and develop materials.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills to work with stakeholders at all levels and across teams; strong teaching skills with a focus on adult learning.
  • Highly developed and effective communication skills including written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills combined with solid judgment.
  • Strong influence, coaching and leadership skills.

  • Physical requirements include climbing into and under various aircraft; walking around, standing, and crouching, all for long periods of time. Able to lift up to 23 kg.
