Key Responsibilities:The Manager - Supplier Accountability plays an important role in driving significant improvements in supplier performance, ensuring that United Airlines improves recovery through business impact remedy and warranty claims. This position serves as a pivotal liaison between leadership and suppliers, building a process to supervise all claims, engaging in negotiations involving large-dollar concessions. The Manager will interact regularly with executive leadership, both within United and at supplier organizations, to secure efficient outcomes for the company.
- Strategic Claims Management: Lead the creation, tracking, and critical issue of high-impact business remedy and warranty claims, ensuring robust documentation and daring pursuit of recovery to improve financial returns.
- Executive Liaison: Serve as the contact for executive leadership on matters of supplier accountability, providing strategic insights, detailed progress updates, and recommendations for further action on claims and negotiations.
- High-Level Negotiations: Engage directly with supplier executives to negotiate substantial financial concessions and settlements, often involving multi-million-dollar claims, ensuring United Airlines interests are protected and enhanced.
- Cross-Departmental Data Collection: Coordinate with internal leadership to gather, organize, and analyze data related to impact costs on United, ensuring that all relevant information is considered when assessing claims and supplier performance.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team, including direct reports in the US and potentially in the India Knowledge Center (IKC), aligning the team with goals and encouraging a high-performance culture.
- Contractual Support: Collaborate closely with Strategic Sourcing and Legal teams to influence and draft contract language that strengthens supplier accountability and includes clear, enforceable remedies.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of all claims activities, producing regular and ad-hoc reports for executive leadership that provide access to claims status, financial impact, and supplier performance trends.

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering
- At least three years of experience in supply chain, logistics, finance, or a similar industry
- Leadership experience, with the ability to lead and encourage teams across multiple locations
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, contract administration, and supplier negotiation
- Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills in high-stakes, large-dollar negotiations
- Sophisticated proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):- Masters degree
- At least 3 years of experience in initiating and leading high-impact claims, including data analysis, contract interpretation, and supplier negotiation
- Familiarity with Boeing PSAA and Airbus SSC product support provisions
- Ability to draft and negotiate sophisticated product support contract terms
- Sophisticated knowledge of SCEPTRE or similar systems
- Proficiency in writing and using sophisticated SQL queries
