- Partners with Logistics, Operations and Procurement on material inventory, supplier integration strategies (VMI/3PL/superspanets) and import/export controls.
- Partners with Industrial Engineering on packaging strategies and components for import/export controls
- Implement and maintain a document retention program regarding trade compliance
- Works and assists management on additional classification and trade compliance audits and projects works
- Provide reports relating to import/export activity to various business units, as required
- Developing, maintaining, and driving standardization of policies, procedures, processes, guidance, and internal controls
- Assist with the ongoing training and instruction to company-wide personnel as regulations and the business evolve
- Provide support in CTPAT projects
- Serve as the company´s IMMEX subject matter expert.
- Support activities with IMMEX third party legal and consulting organizations.
- Familiar with customs documentation and import/export experience
- Supervise the integrity of the information transferred from Vastera and SAP
- Supervise that the master data loaded in Vastera are in accordance with SAP
- Supervise the monthly reconciliation of raw material inventory in Vastera, SAP and Annex 24 & 30
- Supervise that the monthly information of GLOSA is in accordance with Vastera
- Supervise that the inventory records of Machinery and Equipment are in accordance with those of Finance and Annex 24& 30
- Advanced use of VUCEM portal
- Update and maintain validity of MX/US certifications (CIVA, OEA, C-TPAT)
- Attend all internal / external audits that apply
- Actively participates in the 5s Program, which is a critical business objective, ensuring compliance with the program regulations and carrying out the activities that are required as Auditor, Coordinator, Leader or member of the committee.
- Actively participates in the Safety and Environmental Systems, ensuring compliance with the system requirements and carrying out the activities in which it is involved.
- Performs work assignment in a safe, efficient, and ethical manner.
- Develops other activities assigned by management to support business operations.
- Conducted according to the guidelines of the quality policy.
- Know the quality objectives relevant to their role and actively participate in achieving them
- Supervise the day-to-day import/export Mexicali operation to ensure compliance with US/MEX Customs, Licenses and EH&S
- Partners with the Global Trade team in the US to support HTS classifications, US Customs Law changes and Compliance.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience or Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Proficient conversational and written English required, needs to be able to efficiently communicate both in person and in reports/via email.
- 10 years of experience in maquiladora, Customs Law, IMMEX Decree
- Knowledge and experience in VAT certification (Annex 24, Annex 30)
- Knowledge in Reconciliation Program
- Knowledge in CTPAT and OEA
- Leadership skills and experience supervising the import/export team
