As a Manager IT Product Delivery - Customer you will manage the product and delivery teams to define, deliver and operate high-quality products and solutions that meet customer needs and expectations. Oversee the product portfolio lifecycle from concept to ongoing service management. Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with business goals and customer requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful project delivery, product launches and improvements.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Product-oriented solution management: Oversee the lifecycle of all products in the portfolio from concept to launch and beyond. Collaborate with stakeholders to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Prioritize product features and enhancements based on business needs, ensuring continuous innovation.
- Product and solution design and delivery: Lead technical product, delivery, and solution architecture resources to effectively define features, design solutions, and implement them on time and within budget. Provide clarity, guidance, and leadership to software engineering and quality engineering resources to ensure products and solutions fulfil the defined specifications with built-in quality.
- Delivery-focused accountability: Accountable for the end-to-end product and solution delivery to the business. Provide a single view of demand and scope across the product portfolio, including roadmaps and technical health. Engage with business stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure timely delivery of projects, products, services, and enhancements based on agreed scope, schedule, and budget commitments. Manage issues and risks to ensure successful outcomes in line with stakeholder expectations.
- Data-driven management and improvement: Manage the product portfolio according to a cross-functional set of products, delivery, quality, financial, and service metrics. Use data and metrics to monitor performance and provide insights that inform roadmaps, enhancements, service improvements, and other work plans. Collaborate with other practices (e.g., Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, Service Management) to monitor and improve the required metrics and health of the products.
- Investment planning, roadmaps and relationship management: Support the long-term investment strategy for the portfolio and capture long-term business needs that require implementation. Act as a business partner to manage relationships with relevant business units to ensure relevant products and other technology demands are fulfilled. Advise key business and finance stakeholders on the annual and 3-year investment plans and technical product roadmaps needed to achieve business value, technology debt reduction, and scalability.
- Budget management: Develop, plan, and manage the IT budget, including forecasting financial requirements, allocating resources efficiently, and adjusting allocations to meet project demands and organizational priorities. Collaborate with and contribute to the preparation of business cases with VP IT Product Delivery, Finance, APMO and business stakeholders. Responsible for product budgets and planning across their full lifecycle from investment to run (operations).
- Building high performance teams: Manage cross-functional teams to ensure optimal resource allocation and the delivery of high-quality IT products and solutions on time and within budget, while driving the continuous improvement of processes and technologies. Coach and develop resources, ensuring proper duty-of-care for staff, and establish objectives, succession plans, and development plans.
- Supplier relationship management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic IT external partners and subcontractors (such as resource providers or off-the-shelf system providers) where contract values are high and contribution is significant to successful delivery. Manage suppliers to their committed obligations, milestones, and service levels as defined in relevant commercial agreements.
- Continuous process improvement: Contribute to the improvement of practices and associated skill sets for all chapters involved in product delivery, particularly the Delivery, Technical Product, and Solution Architecture chapters. Collaborate with other chapters and subject matter experts to continuously improve the IT Playbook and practices required to build, deploy, monitor, and test quality products that enable and deliver measurable business value.
