Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager, Material Operations at our Lake Charles Louisiana facility. This position will be fully engaged with the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team and other cross-functional teams to successfully support multiple programs across the Logistics and Fabrication Solutions site.
This position will be work with but not limited to Business Management, Contracts, Manufacturing and all Program Management Teams within the site to assure continuity and consistency of data collection, reporting, and program execution.
As part of the Global Supply Chain function our team enjoys significantly diverse assignments, and collaboration across all levels.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establish Material Operations Strategy to be implemented by the Material Operations Management Team
- Drive overall material health, material schedule, and accurately forecast costs by using statistical planning models to forecast the material demand for the site.
- Work collaboratively with other functional areas to meet site commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within the site.
- Identify critical material shortages and resolve material related issues due to supply based problems, inventory errors, or demand changes.
- Manage and communicate material risks and opportunities with internal and external customers
- Ultimately responsible for inventory control, ensuring stock levels are maintained at an appropriate level by coordinating the efficient movement of materials with Global Supply Chain and management at the Warehouse.
- Engage in the generation of proposals including identify material requirements, drafting supplier statements of work, basis of estimates, and estimate rational.
- Prepare material status presentations for all programs assigned to the LFS site
- Reviews and updates site Principles and Operation Practices annually
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 9 years of material, supply chain, or programs management experience and a High School diploma. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience; An Associates Degree with a minimum of 7 years related experience may also be considered.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams or projects with a minimum of 5 years of managing people
- Demonstrated success in continuous process improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and identify trends
- Must be proficient in SAP
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Coordinate and manage a diverse group of people and skills as well as influence others outside of his/her specific area of responsibility.
- US citizen and ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in performing in a fast-paced depot environment
- In depth knowledge of material management in a depot or production environment
- Experience in communication, both written and verbal, with customers and senior management
- Understanding of Obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)
- Experience with all aspects of proposal generation
- Experience in the material requisition process
Salary Range: $82,100 - $123,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
