The Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) finance team within the NP (Naval Power) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an immediate need for a Finance Lead to support and lead our DOD production portfolio. The production portfolio is a challenging and highly complex set of programs consisting of large DOD contracts. Additionally, the USN has issued the first combined RFP with another portfolio outside of our Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) driving increased complexity. This is expected moving forward as part of the Navys overall Terminal-Defense plan which will require the individual to navigate and integrate financial processes across multiple SSBUs, ensuring seamless operations and effective collaboration.
In this role, you will be responsible for the financial operations, PBP invoicing / commission payments, contract negotiations, collaboration and relationship building with internal and external customers. You will also collaborate with several Program Managers, Program Directors and FP&A leads to monitor and update Risk and Opportunities, develop monthly forecast updates, support the annual operating plan (AOP) development, and long-range (LRP) planning for the entire CIWS production portfolio.
Additionally, you will be responsible for training peers on the financial planning process and tools, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. The perfect candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for continuous learning, and a willingness to take on demanding challenges. You must have the ability to think on their feet, make decisions in an exciting environment, manage competing priorities and interact with various levels of organization.
This position will provide an opportunity to improve skills in financial planning, PRISM, estimates at complete and variance analysis and apply them to existing and future pursuits.
This position is currently designated as Onsite. However, the successful candidate will be required to work onsite from one of the following locations, Tucson, AZ, El Segundo, CA, Louisville, KY, Marlborough, MA or McKinney, TX.
What You Will Do
- Quarterly Development of Estimate at Completion (EACs)
- Interfacing with Control Account Managers, Program Management, the Integrated Product Leadership Team, and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Provide training and mentoring to team members.
- Support review and forecast of Bookings, Sales, Earnings and Cash forecast to Financial Planning.
- Summary contract level inputs and updates to Long Range Plan (LRP) and 5-year sales targets.
- Contribute to cross-functional teams with an emphasis on financial implications of team decisions and ensure finance team knowledge of program decisions.
- Develop, utilize, and disseminate process improvement and tool improvement opportunities to enhance critical thinking opportunities for the entire finance team.
- Ad-hoc request support in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires: A Bachelor degree in Business, Math, Finance, Accounting or a directly related field; or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- Experienced user of SAP (APEX and/or PRISM), RAY RPlan or similar financial systems
- Experience with data analysis and/or reporting
- Experience with Estimates at Complete (EACs),
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
