Ascent Aviation is growing, and we are on the lookout for a Manager of Bidding, Estimating & Scheduling to lead our efforts in managing all aspects of Bids, Quotes, Proposals, and Schedules. This key position requires a detail-oriented and organized professional who thrives in planning and managing tasks while meeting deadlines. Aviation experience is a plus, but a strong ability to execute in this critical role is what we value most.

This role is onsite and will primarily office at our Marana location (just north of Tucson). Relocation assistance maybe provided.

What you will do:

  • Updates the schedules for Marana and Tucson facilities and prioritizes work based on need dates. Determines the required manhours per day by facility based on workload.
  • Ensures each site has the proper certifications for potential customers and maintains historical files of quotes for reference.
  • Coordinate with department heads, Project Managers, and Maintenance Managers for manpower requirements for all billable work.
  • Ensures that training and development needs are identified, and programs initiated.
  • Maintains communications within areas of responsibility. Informs employees as to plans and progress. Conducts employee discussion sessions at regular and frequent intervals.
  • Ensures that a positive employee relations position is maintained promoting teamwork and cooperation. Ensures that the Company’s management principles, policies, and programs are consistently practiced. Recommends and coordinates with Human Resources Department personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
  • Coordinates responsibilities within work areas. Analyzes and resolves work problems and remains available for consultation of matters relating to work being performed.
  • Acts within scope of authority and consistent with company and corporate objectives, guidelines, policies, and practices and recommends programs or procedures employing original ideas and methods as necessary.
  • Maintain Facility Maintenance Slot chart to track sold and potential projects. Attend and sometimes host weekly Maintenance-lookahead meetings with the Sales and Operations Department.
  • Assisted with preparing the Daily Company-wide Operations meeting and host the meeting in the absence of the Senior Director of Planning.
  • Complete special projects as directed by the Senior Director of Planning. Attend special events with the Sales Staff and Customers as required. Develop a rapport with customers.

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Retrieves reports as needed.
  • Conducts training for planning staff as needed.
  • Coordinates with other departments/managers as necessary.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
Job Requirements:

What you will bring to the table: 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance scheduling, quoting, RFPs, and OEM maintenance program understanding.
  • A&P License.

  • Human Behavior and Management: Basic understanding of human behavior and management techniques.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.

WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Requires bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, reaching to shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, and balancing. Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 75 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision to normal range and ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Equipment Operated: Ability to operate office machines, support servers, 
  • 3D and Label printers, handhelds and troubleshoot problems with equipment. 
  • Work Location: MIS Office, computer room, various offices/departments throughout facility. 
  • Potential Hazards: Exposure to materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets
