Responsibilities
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Manager of Flight Standards is to oversee and lead a successful Line Check Airman department. This position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that pilots adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations, specifically in line with PSAs standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Manager of Flight Standards will serve as the primary point of contact with the FAA and other external organizations in regard to Pilot Standards, in order to guarantee the success of PSA’s pilot operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for airline Flight Standards and Flight Training departments.
- Collaborate with the Director of Training to develop goals specific to PSA Flight Training and Standards.
- Review all Federal Aviation Regulations as it applies to airmen training and/or currency and implement any requirements or changes to those requirements.
- Routinely evaluate Line Check Airman performance and take administrative or disciplinary action including terminations if needed.
- Schedule, attend, and conduct I/E Indoctrination courses as needed.
- Create, maintain, and present reports and/or statistics to various directors, FAA and other departments.
- Fulfill requests from the FAA for Information, certification, and validation.
- Comply with applicable company policies, procedures and FARs.
- Maintain required company documentation.
- Develop MINT Training Management System forms and reports for LCA’s.
- Participate in ASAP Event Review Committee, RAVE and Crisis activation calls.
- Attended various conferences as needed.
- Responsible for the Companys Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifics
Qualifications
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- 3-5 years of experience as an airline and/or military instructor or evaluator
- Possess a strong background in pilot training and standardization, as well as exceptional leadership skills.
- Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.
Preferred
- Associates or bachelor’s degree
- Line Check Airman Experience
- Sim Instructor/PCA/APD Experience
- Experience in pilot training and standardization functions: development, delivery and/or management perspective
- Experience with MINT or other TMS
- Successfully complete PSA pilot training program

Supervisory Responsibility: This position will have direct reports.
Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Director of Flight Operations
