We are searching for a Senior Manager, Materials, Planning, SIOP to lead a team of primarily experienced materials and planning professionals to support Operations and will be responsible for all aspects of Materials at the Simpsonville, SC and Nogales, MX locations. Establishes key elements of tactical and operational plans with direct impact towards the achievement of results, with a focus on short to medium-term time horizons. Responsible for managing and monitoring materials and planning performance and productivity, with focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Drives daily productivity and problem-solving through our Lean management system. Drives Lean implementation in alignment with the RTX CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) and the Collins Management System.
This role will be performed Onsite at our Collins Aerospace Location in Simpsonville, SC.
What You Will Do
- Accountable for Materials Team at the Simpsonville, SC and Nogales, MX locations holding overall responsibility for planners, schedulers, logistics supervisor, material handlers, and ERP data team.
- Responsible for materials policy deployment, aligned with site business strategy and annual operating plan.
- Provides leadership coaching and development for planners, schedulers, logistics supervisor, material handlers, and ERP data team.
- Disciplined execution of the daily Lean management system, including Tiered accountability meetings, visual management systems, and leader standard work. Drive accountability to daily results and rapid corrective actions to overcome misses.
- Responsible for training and overall development of the materials team in alignment with business needs. Responsibility for approximately 30 direct and indirect reports.
- Champion for safety, quality improvement, and CORE programs across all materials areas.
- Drives implementation and standardization of best practices through standard work aligned with the TWI model. This includes, but is not limited to, job instructions, job breakdown sheets, pre- and post-flight checklists, layered audits, and others as appropriate.
- Drives development of a strong problem-solving culture, through application of CORE methods and coaching behaviors.
- Ensures timely execution of materials transactions in Epicor ERP system to ensure data accuracy. Work with other areas to continuously improve data integrity.
- Works with the manufacturing teams to optimize scheduling and materials flow to support operations, decreasing WIP while improving delivery.
- Responsible for managing Epicor ERP data integrity and improvement efforts to maximize ERP system functionality and support business processes.
- Responsible for executing plan for every part and maintaining master data for purchased parts, sub-assemblies, end items and other parts as required.
- Facilitates the capacity management process, including identification and escalation of long-term capacity gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demands in support of SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) processes.
- Responsible for overall inventory management and reduction efforts aligned to key business targets and SIOP processes.
- Performs escalated expediting when required to ensure on time delivery of material. Mitigates risks for short term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery.
- Responsible for warehousing, cycle count, inventory accuracy, logistics coordination and costs, and compliance to global trade logistics practices.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer
- Lean or six sigma certifications
- Materials management in AS9100 controlled manufacturing environments.
- ASCM (APICS) certification in Planning and/or Warehousing
- Experience with Epicor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
