Take charge of our day-to-day operations, so we remain the trusted source for aviation repair and maintenance. Work with your team to implement the right processes and practices across our organization to help ensure flight and product efficiency.

As an Operations Manager, you’ll have responsibility in managing and coordinating FAA Part 145 repair station shop floor operations in accordance with business unit objectives.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Plan and coordinate the day-to-day activities of operations personnel to ensure all work is being accomplished IAW approved technical data 
  • Oversee that all personnel observe and understand all safety practices and procedures and that they use proper PPE in the course of performing their job
  • Ensure all assigned personnel observe and understand all company policies and procedures. Including established systems compliance, performance of overhaul and repair work IAW approved technical data, human resources policies, etc.
  • Review and plan the use of assigned personnel and equipment resources to employ labor efficiently and manage daily work order flow and task assignments to maintain daily/weekly throughput targets and ensure an efficient organization that can meet the demands of the repair station
  • Perform the administrative duties of managing overtime, approving timecards, vacation scheduling, performance evaluations, transfers, promotions and termination of assigned personnel
  • Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as assigned, are achieved monthly
  • Ensure timely communication of work orders that are late to scheduled need dates and provide recovery plans with estimated completion dates
  • Ensure quality of work performed through routine quality checks 
  • Supervise assigned technicians in proper work procedures and practices 
  • Manage assigned personnel skills and qualifications to ensure cross training.
  • Ensure assigned technical personnel are appropriately trained and/or qualified to perform their job function 
  • Ensure technicians have the appropriate technical data and customer requirements available and followed by personnel during the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration activities 
  • Engage team member input to support an employee driven culture which builds employee satisfaction 
  • Report and track the flow of assigned products to ensure on time delivery utilizing the applicable scheduling tools
  • Ensure accurate vouchering of labor hours and address variances to established standards
  • Handle Shift turnover 
  • Ensure the shop equipment and tools are maintained in good working order. Submit maintenance request, as needed
  • Submit request for purchase, as needed
  • Trouble shoot problems and work with Team to remove production Road Blocks
  • Facilitate small group problem solving activities. 
  • Ensure that the assigned work areas are adequately lit, ventilated and housekeeping of all assigned areas is maintained towards 5S. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or – 5 years’ experience in the same or similar position in an FAA regulated environment. 
  • Familiar with the methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to perform the assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration tasks
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Several years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
