We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.As NPI (New Product Introduction) Quality Manager you will be the reference of quality program and you will work with other key roles, like: Program Manager, ITO, Industrial Leader and System Engineering. You will lead the program during the industrialization with phase & gate approach and WOR/MOR.You will be responsible to define with the Customer the quality requirements applicable to a new engine program and flow down to all Avio Aero sites/departments involved through the Quality Plan.You will be the primary interface with the Customer for any Quality task/issue and you will promote actions to reduce Quality related risks and to increase Customer satisfaction using Flight Deck and APQP.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Review applicable Customer Quality requirements during te preliminary offer to customer, verify Avio Aero compliance with the requirements and support quotation phase with ITO team.
- Join WOR/MOR program meeting, lead Program Quality KPIs to control industrialization of the program and escalate issues
- Be the Customer focal point for all quality aspects and provide answer to their requests
- Support the implementation of APQP for programs where requested and the collection of PPAP deliverables as applicable
- Provide Quality Deliverables during the Phase/Gate NPI approach
- Participate in the design phase, review and approve preliminary drawing according the CPD process
- Plan and lead approval of VSE and QNs pending on the program in agreement with the internal and external team
- Analyze quality data to identify needs and opportunities for quality improvement and support the implementation of improvement plans
- Together with Design and Manufacturing, establish a Manufacturing Process that meets design requirements at the start of production, with focus on producibility and design change. You will escalate producibility issues to define proper manufacturing or design corrective action
- Interface with Customers and with other company functions, like Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality proactively and in a timely manner to define and manage Program Quality risks
Qualifications / Requirements
- Masters Degree in Engineering field
- Experience as quality engineer, manufacturing engineer or design engineer in Aeronautical manufacturing company
- Ability to lead complex problems, escalations and problem solving
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Availability to travel internationally to meet customer/shops as needed
- Fluent Italian and English
- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
- Knowledge of Aerospace Quality Standards, as well as knowledge of problem solving / improvement tools (e. g. Six Sigma, FLIGHT DECK, etc)
- Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process and specific improvement tools, like Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Process Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Design for Manufacturability DFM) Reviews
