Job Description SummaryGE Caledonian are a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business operating in the technology driven aviation sector. We currently have an opportunity for an NPI Leader. Operating from within the Engineering Team but reaching across all aspects of the business from introducing the latest technology to adding value to our strategy.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Leader, scope includes Business Case Creation, Project Management, and Project Execution for the introduction of new components, and industrialisation of new repairs. Partnering with the Operations, Engineering, Strategy and Lean teams to optimise all processes for the introduction of the new components and repairs, while meeting all repair manual and regulatory requirements.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Championing key site deliverables of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and adoption of Lean principles.
- Manage the performance of the NPI team to ensure they actively contribute to the teams Key Performance Indicators
- Provide positive direction to allow the development of the skills, knowledge and experience of the team
- Work closely with the Repair, Cost and Productivity Leaders to identify suitable Component Repair and Accessory Industrialisation projects that meet the strategic needs of the business and to justify the business case through data driven evaluation.
- Work closely with Special Process Owners and Engineers to evaluate Repair Development requirements and to manage through to completion, multiple projects on time, within budget and in adherence to GE Aviation Management of Change requirements
- As the site NPI focal you will report out on progress to the senior team and ensure their understanding of help required and risk.
- Integrate into the project funding approval process.
- Evaluate costing for new NPI repair’s through working closely with the costing team, so that real cost can be included in the electronic Component Repair Directory (eCRD)
- Participate in the sites general engineering activities and issues including existing daily shop management structures.
- It is intended that the scope of this role may develop as successful candidate’s knowledge and experience grows.
Qualification / Requirements:
- Experience in MRO engineering and/or project management
- People leadership expereince essential
- Aviation MRO background preferred
- Ability to lead and motivate others within a team environment
- Continuous Improvement mindset with a focus on Lean Methodologies
- Demonstrate ability as a change agent and of influencing skills
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Results orientation and record of achieving performance objectives
- Knowledge of process operations in a fast paced production environment
- The ability to interpret technical information
