Job Description SummaryIn this role you will be the Engineering Systems Leader for a key advanced military program guiding a cross functional team to achieve the desired outcomes of our customer. The Senior Staff Engineer for the Advanced Programs Systems Engineering team will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives while driving demonstration of key advanced military technology.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage scope, schedules, coordination, and execution of the technology demonstration
- Coordinate with customer on technical requirements
- Lead cross functional teams in the execution of the program
- Lead and provide key technical direction on this project
- Assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
- Respond to request for proposals and request for information from external customers
- Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within the work group
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers
- Communicate with management on technical, financial and programmatic issues.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Engineering from accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and/or technical program management role.
- Existing DoD Security Secret Clearance
Desired Characteristics
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering and/or technical program management role.
- Knowledge of Lean processes and program management skills
- Experience working with DoD customer and processes
- Experience working early TRL programs
- Understanding of the military technology needs and future product landscape
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
- Experience with the DoD acquisition process
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working with and presenting to customers
- Writing of proposals and business development activities
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
