Job Summary:

Operations Manager - 2nd Shift in Aerospace Manufacturing

As the Operations Manager for the 2nd shift in aerospace manufacturing, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team to achieve operational excellence and foster a positive work environment. Your role will focus on mentoring and coaching team members while implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and quality. You will oversee the execution of the operational excellence roadmap, manage budgets, and ensure that operational teams are equipped with the necessary skills and tools to succeed. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership: Lead the 2nd shift operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives for operational excellence. Collaborate with operational staff to define and implement the operational excellence roadmap.

  • Budget Management: Propose, manage, and monitor the allocated budget for the 2nd shift, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost management.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead the continuous improvement team, promoting the Group’s operational excellence program. Advise and train operational teams on the use of excellence tools such as Kaizen and standards.

  • Process Optimization: Contribute to the enhancement of organizational procedures and processes. Conduct maturity assessments and identify areas for improvement.

  • Team Development: Mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and competencies. Manage team workloads and assist with assignments to promote professional growth.

  • Best Practices Sharing: Organize events to share best practices across sites and establish synergies within the network. Facilitate the exchange of ideas and innovations among operational teams.

  • Communication and Engagement: Ensure regular communication about deployment initiatives and events related to the operational excellence program, fostering team engagement and motivation.

  • QSE Alerts Management: Process QSE (Quality, Safety, Environment) alerts reported by staff and take appropriate action to address concerns and improve workplace safety and quality standards.

  • Training and Qualifications: Ensure that team members possess the necessary skills and qualifications to perform their roles effectively. Support ongoing training and development to enhance QSE maturity within the sector.

Profile and other information related to the position

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in managing the implementation of continuous improvement processes within a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace.
  • Strong understanding of operational excellence tools and methodologies, including Kaizen and Lean principles.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving results and improving processes.
  • Proficient in reading and communicating effectively in English.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
