JOB PURPOSE
To supervise functions assigned in the performance of painting and stripping processes of aircraft and equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, reaching above shoulder level, and balancing. Requires occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasional lifting or carrying weight up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling weight up to 50lbs unassisted. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: Spray painting equipment, power tools, mixing equipment, measuring instruments, brushes, ladders, stands, lifts, ventilators, exhaust units, scaffolding.
Work Location: Utilized base wide.
Potential Hazards: Exposure to high intensity noise levels, changes in temperature, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, working on unprotected heights or around moving machinery.
Protective Equipment Required: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, aprons, gloves, respirators, dust masks, safety harnesses, protective clothing.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
· Supervises all Paint Shop functions including the mixing of paints, preparation of aircraft surfaces to be painted and painting and drying operations.
· Ensures that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures and that the technical data and procedure manuals are reviewed, kept current and available.
· Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
· Maintains time and production records.
· Ensures that customer approval is obtained on original and revised estimates to accomplish maintenance on aircraft and components.
· Maintains inventory of shop materials and ensures that materials are available for completion of projects.
· Ensures that all required paperwork is satisfactorily completed, signed and in compliance with existing regulations and procedures.
· Ensures that employees receive proper orientation and training and performs on-the-job training as necessary. Ensures that training is documented in employee training records.
· Interprets company policies to workers, enforces safety regulations and the proper use of equipment and ensures that quality standards are met.
· Supervises and coordinates activities of workers including assigning work duties for maximum utilization of manpower and analyzing and resolving work problems.
· Maintains communications within area of responsibility, informing employees as to plans and progress and promoting teamwork and cooperation.
· Conducts performance evaluations on employees and makes recommendations to management regarding personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
· Perform other such duties as assigned by Manager.
· Ensures compliance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
Marginal Job Functions:
· Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
SMS REQUIREMENTS
· Manager & Supervisors with the overall responsibility for the financial, safety, quality and employee performance of their operation is the person who ensures Ascent Aviation’s policies and procedures are complied with and ensures Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances and rules are equally enforced and adhered to.
· The Managers / Supervisors will be responsible to ensure that all required routine performance audits are complied with and are conducted and reported within the specified timeframe. The Managers/Supervisors/Leads shall ensure all corrective action is complied with and maintained in accordance with the agreed plan.
