GENERAL PURPOSE
In addition to performing their normal duties, Lead persons are responsible for assisting the department supervisor, in¬structing and training less experienced personnel in their job functions. Lead persons also assist in the planning and delegation of work assignments, safety training, new employee orientations, tool set-ups, and the general operation of their department in accordance with quality standards.

Essential Job Functions:
• Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment under general supervision.
• Must demonstrate the ability to complete all departmental paperwork in fine detail and explain the logic of all phases.
• Has in-depth understanding of department docu¬mentation, i.e., travelers, engineering drawings, engi¬neering tech cards, change notices, production and shipping schedules, etc. Changes to any documentation may only be made with written authorization from management.
• Expedites/monitors the flow of work in and out of their respective departments, in response to their delegated authority and verbal/written instructions.
• Notifies management of actual or anticipated problems, i.e., material shortages, tool/equipment, procedural deficien¬cies, safety and employee relations matters that come to their attention.
• Monitors timecard entries, and is knowledgeable in adminis¬trative, manufacturing, and engineering documentation.
• Possesses the ability and willingness to operate and train others in the use of department safety and all equipment and tools.
• Demonstrates ability/willingness to work and communicate with a wide variety of people (hourly, clerical, engineers, etc.).
• Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection per part grade levels. May use such measur¬ing devices as micrometers, calipers, and dial indica¬tors.
• Ensures equipment is operating to optimum running condition. Responsible for the shutdown of equipment at the end of the shift or in the event of a power failure.
• Responsible for the "Haz-Mat" orientation of all new employees to their respective departments.
• Responsible to assure that the department supplies and operational materials are always in stock.
• Responsible for knowing the whereabouts of depart¬ment employees at all times during normal work periods. In case of an emergency, leads must inform supervisors of employee where-abouts to comply with evacuation procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of work performed.
• Meets all production and quality standards. Follows set OPC’s and QCP’s.
• Swing shift leads are additionally responsible for security during the swing shift work periods and responsible for locking all plant doors, gates and shutdown of all necessary equipment.
• All other duties assigned.

Training:
• Training is provided on the job and may be documented by Verbal, Written, or Practical Testing.

Qualifications:
• Experience and/or training are included in considerations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, read, follows and interprets instructions on technique cards, code sheets as well as other verbal or written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devices and fixtures.
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
• Must be a Level B or higher in-home department.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $25.50 to $38.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
