Role Summary

The Principal Lounge Product Manager is the sole subject matter expert for lounge product and program strategy at Alaska Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role defines long-term strategy for lounge product offerings and exercises considerable latitude and initiative to manage lounge revenue strategy, membership cultivation, capital projects, partnership development, and product experience, and influences near-term and long-term growth of the lounge program.

Key Duties

  • As the lead subject matter expert in lounge product and programs, responsible for the lounge product and membership program including F&B offerings, partner lounge network, revenue programs and lounge amenities.

  • Defines the 12+ month strategy for lounge product offerings and programs to meet strategic commercial objectives.

  • Exercise considerable latitude and initiative to solve complex problems including meeting guest experience targets, cost targets, revenue targets and commercial objectives.

  • Influences across departments, actively engaging with SVP/EVP level leaders to share challenges and solutions, recommendations and seek approval for resources and funding to achieve objectives.

  • Cultivates partnership with F&B brands, other airlines and lounges to develop a robust partner portfolio that differentiates Alaska’s product offering from the competition.

  • Network with peers within commercial, FP&A, and business partners to ensure products and programs are successful and in service of company objectives.

  • Leads new lounge development including business case and justification. Ensures new lounge design can accommodate future traffic, amenities and product offerings align with brand objectives, guest needs, and budgets in partnership with architects, general contractors, and Airport Real Estate.

  • Grows and engages membership base for lounge portfolio through regular communications, activations and surveys, and develops innovative partnerships to drive non-member volume.

  • Identify and establish long-term (12 to 24 months) business requirements to ensure guest facing lounge technology and revenue platforms support business needs and commercial objectives.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 7 years of experience in consumer product marketing or product development with a focus on hospitality or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in marketing, business administration, project management or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Exceptional analytical background with demonstratable modeling experience.

  • Knowledge of membership-based organizations and airline partnerships.

  • Strong communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening), with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely to senior leaders.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently.

  • Sense of urgency to complete assignments quickly and thoroughly.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • 3 years of experience as a product manager.

  • 2 years of experience in Food and Beverage or other guest-facing hospitality sector.

  • Professional services experience.

  • Excel, Alteryx, Tableau experience.

Salary Range

$117,500 - $176,300 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
