Job Description
Arconic is currently in search of a Production Manager to join our Building and Construction Team in Eastman, Georgia. The Production Manager is responsible for the supervision, training, coaching and management of the Reynobond production processes, while generating a plant environment that promotes safety, quality, cost management and customer satisfaction at all times. The Production Manager would have up to 50 team members comprised of Supervisors, Leads, Operators and Technicians working in a 24/7 operation most of the year. This position will provide support to the other departments with respect to the overall “order to ship” process.
Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Provide creative, innovative, and comprehensive solutions to production problems
- Ensure continued departmental effectiveness through the selection, development, training, and motivation of competent teams
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems through Daily Management, Problem Solving, and Continuous Improvement Activities
- Ensure safe work culture exists through application of EHS standards and 5S development
- Utilize support staffs of Engineering and Maintenance to ensure processes are optimize to peak safety and productivity
- Report daily, to the organization, key performance measures to ensure daily/monthly goals are achieved
- Ensure orders are satisfied, On Time in Full, to pre-determined production schedules
- Initiate, review and up-date work instructions and guidelines as needed
- Work with New Product development for the preparation and trial of new products
- Adjust labor, as needed, based on customer demand between 3/4 production teams
- Engage Employees daily in safety and productivity Improvements
- Some Afternoon/Night shift hours will be required as the need arises
Successful Candidates will have:
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience focusing on process improvement and problem solving
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office programs Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with very strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Solid mathematical, analytical and problem solving ability
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, yet self-starting and results-oriented
- A willingness to get out on the shop floor and “get dirty”
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn/change when necessary
- Ability to travel some for off-the-job training and occasionally for supplier visits
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising or managing within a team-based manufacturing/industrial environment
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a focus on business management or lean manufacturing or other related field
- 5+ Years of ACM production experience
- 5+ Years of Management experience
