Project Manager
Morson are currently recruiting for accomplished and results driven Senior Project Managers within one of our distinguished Defence clients. Reporting to the head of delivery you will be responsible for leading and delivering high value, complex projects. We’re able to consider Project Managers of leading end-to-end engineering projects in excess of 10M. You will lead from the bid proposal stages to delivery, demonstrating strong leadership, strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills.
We have multiple roles within the Project Management division, offered on initial 6-month contracts with possibility of extension or permanent conversion. The roles require 4 days a week onsite, to be based at the facility in Dorchester. The roles are being offered on an inside IR35 basis for negotiable rates.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining the project structure, planning and WBS building
- Clear definition and placement of work packages including key subcontracts required to deliver the project
- Ensuring appropriate risk, opportunity, security, trade controls, quality and configuration management for the project
- Planning, monitoring and control of the project including management of project Life Cycle
- Lead Management gate reviews
- Be a key contributor to bids and apply the fundamental project management principles and methodology using:
- Stakeholder management
- Customer and supplier negotiations
- Internal bid reviews
- Project management documentation
Requirements
- Project Management Experience leading engineering projects
- Experience delivering projects with budgets in excess of 10 million
- Good commercial skills and awareness of relevant contractual aspects associated with project delivery
- Ability to effectively communicate, present and negotiate direct with key external stakeholders (Government, Navy, industry)
- Experience of successfully delivering complex technical products from initial design definition through to final test and acceptance into service
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills and experience with leading diverse teams, stakeholders and suppliers
- Domain experience in the defence business or a recognised high end technical industry
- Excellent communication skills; oral and written
- Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
