Position Summary:
Ownership of certification planning and assuring compliance with quality policies and procedures. Partners with cross functional leaders to audit internal processes and coordinate with certification clerks and ID inspectors to maintain quality standards. Plans activities concerned with application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Supports with development and revision of quality systems procedures. Initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Manages the internal auditing procedures and conducts audits.
- Works with internal stakeholders to resolve problems, specifically for document control, ID / Inspection, and shipping.
- Supports with designs and development of forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Supports with evaluation of precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Provides guidance and technical support to quality analysts and inspectors engaged in marking/labeling products and those who perform quality systems reviews, audits and product certification.
- Participate in the development of planning and AS9102/FAI department documents to assure a quality plan is in place to produce conforming product in the most efficient manner. Participates in the evaluation and verification of product design characteristics for reporting to the customer.
- Trains employees in quality issues, supports providing feedback of performance for employees during audits for reporting to management, addresses quality complaints, and resolves quality related problems as assigned by management.
- Provides management with suggestions and recommendations for quality improvement.
- Proactively leads and provides updates for the department in the daily ship call. Builds schedule to support operational targets while maintaining quality assurance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages 5 to 10 Quality Analyst(s), and/or Quality Technician(s). Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these individuals. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company&39;s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Possess the ability to work autonomously on specific compliance or quality system projects with accelerated timelines
- Critical thinker, detailed oriented, while overseeing multiple tasks for several projects
- Excellent computer skills including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and validation
Experience & Education
Bachelor&39;s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; five years’ experience in the aviation, space and/or defense industry for quality planning, product certification, first article evaluation. Training in the forging industry is desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as a quality specialist in certifications desired.
