Role Summary

The Regional Compliance Manager is a subject matter expert in the Airport Operations & Customer Service (AOCS) compliance program for Alaska Airlines (AS) and/or Hawaiian Airlines (HA). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in the development and implementation of action plans based on compliance and safety gaps identified.

Key Duties

  • Act as a subject matter expert in the AOCS compliance program.

  • With minimal direction from leadership, exercise considerable judgement to identify and make decisions based on compliance and safety gaps in the development and implementation of station action plans.

  • Collaborate with and act as resource for station leadership in identifying compliance/safety gaps, supporting a safe and compliant operation.

  • Take on complex, ambiguous challenges in preliminary reviews of root cause and corrective action plans for station audit findings and assess accuracy of root cause(s) and robustness of corrective actions.

  • Apply deep knowledge in the development of corrective action plans in response to IEP, FAA, TSA findings to ensure corrective action plans are sufficiently robust, well thought out, feasible and completed in the allotted time.

  • Partner with Quality Assurance to validate corrective action plans were implemented and are effective.

  • Guide investigations of significant Ground Irregularity Reports (GIRs) and other incident reports.

  • Manage projects to support successful completion of all required audits that station management is responsible for performing.

  • Collaborate with and validate management understanding and accurate execution of audit requirements and procedures.

  • Through participation in Divisional Analysis Group (DAG) and Safety Review Board (SRB) meetings, review and analyze all available information to determine potential compliance risks and develop mitigation plans and programs.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 4 years station operations experience including airline safety and operating standards, customer service, ground handling, cargo, or security operations.

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree, or an additional 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Thorough understanding of airline safety and operating standards, as well as customer service, ground handling, cargo, and security operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly scope situations, develop an accurate understanding of risks, and develop plans responsive to those risks.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (e.g., verbal, written, presentation) skills, with the ability to create collaborative relationships that drive outcomes in the best interest of the company, with others in the organization, and with key external business partners.

  • Professional work ethic and demonstrated ability to work with all work groups while addressing people courageously, directly, and candidly.

  • Superior problem solving, planning, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Exceptional integrity, with impeccable ethics in safety and compliance.

  • Detailed-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to execute on multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is key.

  • Ability to willingness to travel up to 75 of the time.

  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (e.g., evening, weekends, after-hours, holidays, etc.)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Alaska Airlines System Regulations and Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) policies and procedures.

  • Compliance and/or audit experience.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Salary Range

$86,400 -- $129,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
