What does the role look like?
Were recruiting an exciting Sales and Business Development Manager role to work across our Civil Aerospace business. You will be the Voice of the Customer within Collins Aerospace Actuation UK, maximising existing revenue within our customer base alongside ensuring our internal technology roadmaps align with customer platform timelines.
The successful candidate will be from a Engineering or Manufacturing background with previous experience of winning OEM business. You will have a curious mindset aligned with a commercial flair. You will be able to utilise your technical background to link people & products together to add commercial value.
You will be based at Wolverhampton or Banbury where there will be sporadic travel to our customers both in the UK & overseas. You can be based anywhere in the UK as long as you can get to Wolverhampton or Banbury for key meetings & visits.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
- Maintaining regular dialog with customer on technology, contract, pricing and operations through the appropriate forums
- Responsible for OEM Business Development and sales (including re-pricing) for assigned OEM customers in line with Collins departmental and corporate financial objectives.
- Responsible for enhancing customer experience by addressing and resolving customer requirements and making recommendations for improvements to performance and services.
- Manages Sales and BD responsibilities for multiple products and services, including existing products and new technology offerings, for assigned customer accounts.
- Identifies and implements margin improvement initiatives on existing contracts
- Recommends and provides ideas on systems, standards, and mechanisms that guide OEM selection activities; recommends measures that can be used to assess customer service efficiency, consistency, reliability, and quality to consistently improve and ensure quality services are delivered to customers.
- Oversees escalation of unresolved customer satisfaction matters. Provides guidance and recommends plans for resolution of complaints, issues, and other complex inquiries.
- Oversees information gathering, analysis, and investigation and develops documentation for customer account management.
- Reviews processes for addressing and resolving customer problems and determines how to improve performance and services.
- Responsibilities include Business & Technical Reviews with the relevant value streams
- 20 - 30 travel required incl. overseas.
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
- Proven experience in winning OEM business
- Curious mindset alongside excellent commercial awareness
- Technical background- This could be Engineering or Manufacturing
Desirable skills:
Ability to engage & influence at all levels
Methodical approach
Apprentice or degree qualified in Engineering or Manufacturing
Customer first approach to Sales & Business Development
Experience in successfully selling aerospace components in the flight control, aerostructure or interiors sectors considered an advantage.
Ability to build a large network of stakeholders in the Civil aerospace industry (OEM, regulators, airlines, government departments)
Comfortable with overseas travel
