Job Description SummaryThe GE Aerospace Dowty Propellers Senior Contract Manager is an individual contributor and will join a team of Contract professionals. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team by providing sound business guidance, help develop strategy, implement continuous improvement via Lean Tools, and manage complex contracts for production and services. You will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and will rely heavily on your understanding and experience to execute business objectives. You will be an integral part of a dynamic team by providing sound business advice, spearheading the process by which contracts are created and influencing how we provide products and services to our Aerospace customers. This position will involve working on both Military and Commercial contracts, and requires an understanding of the entire contracting lifecycle. The ability to navigate the United States Government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and United Kingdom MOD Regulations is desirable.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Function as primary interface between GE and our customers on all contractual matters
- Provide contract administration for assigned proposals and contracts including interfacing with customers, leading negotiations, and assisting with contract interpretation, while ensuring compliance to GE policies and government regulations
- Collaborate across internal business functions to ensure compliance
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or issues
- Ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions of stakeholders
- Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and able to construct and provide recommendations
- Embody GEs core Behavioural Anchors (Act with Humility, Lead with Transparency and Deliver with Focus) and drive others to do the same.
- Provide guidance to business partners to resolve complex issues within functional areas
- Contributes to and/or formulates strategy.
- Ability to successfully function within a team environment.
- Advise Business Leaders on contract and legal risk
- Solid comprehension of US and UK Government contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
- Knowledge of commercial contracts formation and risks
- Ability to manage multiple complex contracts and competing priorities
- Ability to propose compliant business solutions to stakeholders.
- Manage any contract type.
- Mentor others in the department through providing guidance and leveraging experience.
- Review processes, lead projects and teams towards improving business processes within the context of LEAN.
- Prepare presentations and deliver to management in a succinct fashion.
- Potential for periodic domestic and international travel
Required Qualifications- Extensive experience in Contract Management
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
