Job Description SummaryThe Senior Counsel, Cyber and Global Security provides ongoing legal advice and support to business leaders across GE Aerospace. The Legal and Compliance team, of which you would be a part, is a dynamic experienced group of commercial and legal professionals who serve as GE Aerospace’s internal subject matter authorities on all legal matters. The senior counsel hired for this role will be a sophisticated, business-oriented attorney who can work effectively across all levels of the organization. Within this role you will report to the General Counsel, Global Security & Digital Technology and Chief Privacy Officer for the Aerospace business. Roles and Responsibilities
Provides legal guidance and advice on a variety of issues, including data security, incident response, risk mitigation, and relevant cybersecurity, national security, and data protection laws, regulations, and requirements.
Lead the legal response of the investigation of physical security and cybersecurity incidents and vulnerabilities, including identifying any legal or regulatory obligations, drafting and reviewing relevant communications and notifications, and providing counsel on response, remediation, and mitigation efforts.
Partner with the Global Security and Cyber teams on the development and implementation of various physical security and cybersecurity programs, initiatives, training, and exercise, including security awareness programs, penetration testing, phishing simulations, tabletops, and red-team exercises.
Maintain and improve security and cybersecurity legal processes and procedures, including incident response plans, and advise on other relevant policies, procedures, playbooks, and standards.
Collaborate with internal teams on cross-functional projects related to a wide range of physical security and cybersecurity issues that touch upon privacy, data security, product development, intellectual property, public policy, and compliance.
Partners with Government Affairs and Cyber teams on legislative issues and emerging regulations to provide advocacy within industry groups and before government entities.
Reviews and negotiates physical security and cybersecurity requirements related to customer and third-party contracts.
Partners closely with Global Security and Cyber teams to ensure compliance with applicable law and regulations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external legal partners and customers.
Monitor compliance with relevant internal business and legal processes and policies.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree from accredited university
Minimum 10 years as a practicing attorney, including 8+ years of cybersecurity experience at a national law firm, government agency, or in-house
Member in good standing with the State Bar
Eligible for a US security clearance
Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Experience in-house or law firm strongly preferred.
Domain expertise in cybersecurity laws, regulations, and best practices.
Experience in incident response and crisis management.
Experience advising on matters involving engagement with law enforcement agencies.
Proactive and defined self-starter with superior communication skills.
