Job SummaryThe Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect plays a key role in shaping the strategic technology direction of NAV CANADA by aligning technology with business objectives and goals. This individual is responsible for analyzing, designing, and documenting both the current and future state of enterprise technology architecture, ensuring alignment with industry standards, emerging trends, and technological innovations.
The Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to define and implement technology strategies, develop standards, patterns, guidelines, and establish architectural blueprints. This role provides expert guidance on strategic initiatives and complex projects, ensuring technology solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with the NAV CANADA’s long-term vision. By leveraging a deep understanding of the NAV CANADA’s business drivers and the broader industry landscape, the Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect ensures that infrastructure decisions drive innovation, efficiency, and safety.
In addition, the Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect actively evaluates emerging technologies and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation and potential disruptions. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to balance technical expertise with business acumen to drive impactful outcomes across the organization.

Key Accountabilities:
Develop and implement technology strategies to ensure that enterprise technology infrastructure supports business objectives and goals. Document and analyze the current technology infrastructure architecture while defining the desired future state to establish a clear roadmap for technological evolution and alignment with the business vision.
Establish and enforce architecture standards, principles, and guidelines to ensure consistency, reliability, security, observability, and scalability across solutions.
Engage with business and technology leaders to understand objectives, challenges, and requirements, ensuring architecture aligns with both technical and business needs.
Provide architectural oversight and guidance for large-scale, strategic projects to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives.
Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and recommending innovative solutions to drive business value.
Develop and maintain architecture standards, reusable patterns, and roadmaps to guide project execution and operational strategies.
Ensure architectural designs comply with relevant regulations, security standards, and organizational policies, mitigating risks effectively.
Foster a culture of learning by mentoring teams, promoting architectural standards, best practices, and sharing architectural knowledge across the organization.
Continuously assess the effectiveness of architectural strategies, measuring their impact on business outcomes, and refining approaches for improved performance.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology Management or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.
Experience:
A minimum of eight (8) years of experience with a proven track record across multiple technology domains, including technology infrastructure, networking, and security. This includes hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and integrating complex technology infrastructure projects, data centers, networks, and security solutions.
A minimum of three (3) years of direct experience designing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks, creating standards, developing best practices, patterns, and defining technology roadmaps.
Hands-on experience developing technology standards, patterns, and blueprints.
Knowledge
Deep understanding of NAV CANADA’s industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to adapt solutions accordingly.
Expertise in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance IT/OT architectures, including cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid cloud with thorough knowledge of the Agile framework.
Deep understanding of data center technologies (compute, storage, hyperconverged infrastructure) and spine-leaf architectures.
In depth knowledge of containerization and virtualization technologies.
In depth knowledge across multiple architectural domains (infrastructure, network, security, application, data, business).
Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.

Working conditions:
Hybrid (3 days in office per week) - This position is based in Ottawa at the NAV CANADA Technical Systems Center (TSC) located at 280 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, K1V 1C1.
This position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
Travel may be required on occasion.
