As a member of the Corporate Audit & Advisory (CAA) team, the Senior Internal Auditor - Technology will support governance, risk and controls-based audit and advisory engagements. The incumbent is primarily responsible for the execution of Technology audit and advisory engagements to support the annual risk-based audit plan to provide independent and objective assurance to Management and the Audit Committee on the Company’s governance, risk management, compliance, and control processes. The individual will be primarily focused on the performance and delivery of technology internal control testing and process/control reviews.
Responsabilities:
- Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit - Technology, the position requires the individual to lead and/or support the following activities:
- Perform audits of company-wide IT areas which include, but are not limited to, IT operations, IT programs and projects, IT regulatory and compliance, IT risk management, and IT advisory.
- Execute audits of (1) IT Operations: processes and systems to ensure the adequacy of controls over the Companys business processes and information, and (2) IT Transformation Programs: to ensure adequacy of controls over the organization delivery and implementation of programs and projects impacting the Companys business processes and information.
- Support the development of audit programs to provide assurance over IT transformation program implementation and IT operation in consultation with business units and CAA Senior Manager.
- Perform IT audits throughout all phases according to the audit methodology.
- Perform the identification of key controls and tests for operating effectiveness of key controls within the processes under review.
- Develop the audit procedures according to the audit engagement plan.
- Integrate data analytics into audit scoping and testing approaches to enhance the overall quality and relevance of engagements, including identifying key risk indicators to perform continuous monitoring.
- Identify and document practical and value-added recommendations, based on root cause analysis and best practices.
- Responsible for documenting well-articulated and meaningful audit findings. This may include drafting initial audit reports.
- Perform follow-ups with internal clients on the implementation of recommended changes.
- Fulfill project management responsibilities, including management of project plan and timeline, review of audit team’s work, communication with the audit engagement team and business and regular status updates to CAA Manager
- Coach other audit team members in their responsibilities to ensure quality of work and compliance with internal audit standards.
- Build relationships and work collaboratively within the CAA group and with other business units.
- Maintain and enhance the level of knowledge of Air Canada, the aviation industry and related business environment.
- Support other service lines in CAA as required, including participating in 52-109, operational audits, enterprise risk management activities and other compliance engagements.
